How to Start a Bowling Ball Arsenal

How to start a basic arsenal of bowling balls. This is not for the beginner. It’s for the person who already has some knowledge of the game and needs some advice as to what bowling balls he should have available in his bag. (his arsenal) Here is my best shot for a starting arsenal. Just about any house bowler needs to have 4 bowling balls with different cover stocks and they should all be drilled the same way. The surface and balance is the key,

THE 4 BOWLING BALL ARSENAL

The Surface:

1. A particle bowling ball to use on longer oil that doesn’t have much backend. (a Brunswick Mammoth or a Hammer Hawg If you can find one) Just make sure its solid particle.

2. A solid reactive bowling ball is used on a medium oily lane condition and medium long length that has some back end. (a Columbia Resugence or a Ebonite Game Breaker)

3. A pearlized bowling ball for fresh back ends or late night after the shot is broke down. (A Hammer Blue Vibe or a hammer black widow pearl)

4. A plastic ball to use as a spare ball, mainly for the 10 pin. Doesn’t need to be expensive. (A Brunswick Tone or a Ebonite Maxim)

The Balance:

1. Try to get bowling balls with 2 to 3 inch pins, or 1 to 2 inch pins with about 3 oz. top weight. When the ball is drilled put the pin 4.5 inches from your positive axis point (pap) or under your ring finger.

2. On a symmetrical ball the center of gravity (cg) should be in line with the pin angling toward your thumb. On an asymmetrical ball the mass bias should be in line with the pin and directly underneath your thumb. This is the Ebonite’s 90% layout.

Drill all Bowling Balls like this!

THIS IS YOUR STARTING ARSENAL!

I hope this helpful. It’s basically just a place to start.

Bo Jackson – Auburn

Bo Jackson is probably the best athlete to come out of Auburn University and is arguably one of the greatest athletes of the twentieth century. Were it not for a horrific January, 1991 hip injury the Heisman Trophy winner with world class sprinter speed who was an All-Star in both the National Football League (NFL) and Major League Baseball (MLB) might have gone on to truly rewrite the definition of an all-around athlete. As an aside few people realize Jackson was also a state champion decathlete in his youth.

The Alabama native born Vincent Edward Jackson was described as a restless child with qualities not unlike those of a wild boar with an abundance of energy. Over time the comparison to a wild boar stuck and as Jackson aged the nickname was shorted simply to Bo. Growing up in McCalla, Alabama Bo excelled at sports with perhaps his most notable prep level accomplishment being that in his senior baseball season he hit an astounding 20 home runs in 25 games. Projected over a 162 game major league baseball season that rate would produce a mind blowing 130 home runs (roughly doubling the current record).

Despite being a second round draft pick by the New York Yankees right out of high school Bo Jackson instead chose to attend Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama located about 120 miles west of his McCalla home. During his stint at Auburn University from 1982 to 1985 Bo not only excelled at baseball (batting.400) and football (winning the Heisman Trophy) but even gave thought to becoming a member of the US Olympic track team when his times in the 100 meter dash indicated that he could have a promising career as a world class sprinter. Ultimately the notion of pursuing sprinting was dropped because it did not offer the same type of financial incentives as football or baseball.

After serving as an exceptional athlete at Auburn during the first half of the 1980s Bo Jackson would go on to take the professional sports world by storm throughout the remainder of the decade while playing baseball for the Kansas City Royals as an outfielder and football for the Oakland Raiders as a running back. The year 1989 was the pinnacle of the sports career of Bo Jackson when he was selected to the MLB all-star game (where he won the all-star game MVP award) and the NFL pro bowl in recognition of his accomplishments on the grid iron during the 1989 football season. Sadly a NFL playoff game hip injury on January 13, 1991 eventually resulted in the need for a hip replacement and although Bo made a short comeback in baseball for all intents and purposes the injury ushered in the end of what might have otherwise been the most prolific athletic career in history. Due to his career shortening injury Bo Jackson is often only a footnote in sports history but when considering his collegiate and dual sport professional success it is fair to say Bo Jackson was the American athlete of the 1980s just as Michael Jordan was of the 1990s and Tom Brady or Tiger Woods arguably were of the 2000s.

In May of 2009, twenty years after his illustrious 1989 sports year when Nike «Bo Knows» advertisements were everywhere, the Alabama son came home to Auburn to pass along the lessons he learned during his lifetime to a new generation by giving the commencement speech to the 2009 graduating class at Auburn University.

Was Football’s Deacon Jones an Ethical Defensive End?

Though Deacon Jones thrived on intimidation, he was an ethical NFL defensive end. Deacon sought to strike fear in the quarterback’s eyes, but he was ethical in his approach to doing this.

Deacon Jones coined the football word ‘sack’, which is tackling the quarterback behind the line of scrimmage. He played left defensive end in an era when every NFL quarterback was right-handed. He didn’t sneak up behind quarterbacks and blindside them, for that was below what his ethics would allow. Deacon wanted the quarterbacks to know he was coming, that number 75 was approaching, and approaching fast. He wanted to intimidate the other team and especially the quarterback, but he wasn’t the type of man to jump you from behind. Deacon wanted to be up-front about it and look that quarterback in the eyes.

Why was the right offensive tackle position manned by each teams’ best offensive linemen during the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s? The reason was because the best defensive ends during those eras played on the left side of the defensive line. Why didn’t teams in the 50s, 60s, and 70s play their best defensive end on the right side like they do nowadays? Theories vary, but an interesting theory is that ethics were stronger during those times – you looked your sport’s opposition in the face and eyes, instead of sneaking up behind him.

In the 50s, 60s and 70s, great football players like Forest Gregg, Bob Brown, Ron Yary, Dan Dierdorf and Rayfield Wright played right tackle and had to block footballs’ best defensive ends in men like Deacon Jones, Bubba Smith, Willie Davis, Gerry Philbin, Carl Eller, Jack Youngblood and L.C. Greenwood.

Were ethics stronger in society and football 30-50 years ago than they are now? Every current NFL team plays their best defensive end on the right side to attack right-handed quarterbacks’ blindsides. Today’s ethics state that blindsiding is the right thing to do because winning is everything, even if it means that you jump someone (the quarterback) from behind.

But there are exceptions to this theory. Reggie White is considered the greatest defensive end of all time and he played the left side during the 1980s and 1990s. White was a deeply religious man. Did his strong ethics only allow him to play where the leagues’ majority of right-handed quarterbacks could see him approaching? From his wonderful interviews and the many good virtues said about Reggie White, it would seem that he didn’t want to blindside quarterbacks. In polls regarding the greatest defensive ends in NFL history, Reggie White is number one with Deacon Jones second.

Flip-flopping your stronger defensive linemen back and forth between the right and left sides of the defensive line is now a common strategy in football as coaches attempt to find match-ups that will give their defenses an advantage. But Deacon stayed on the left side his entire career.

A counter to the theory that Deacon was ethical is that his massive ego had to be fed by seeing the fear in quarterbacks’ eyes, something that wouldn’t have happened if he’d played on the right side. Lefthanded quarterbacks were rare in the NFL during Deacon’s career – Chicago Bears’ southpaw Bobby Douglas’ rookie year was 1969.

Deacon Jones died June 3rd/2013. The NFL honored his passing with the Deacon Jones Award for the NFL player with the most quarterback sacks each season. This award should have long ago been named after the man who coined the word ‘sack’, but it took Deacon’s death to finally liberate this dignity to his honor.

If society’s and sports’ ethics have suffered in the last 40 years since Deacon Jones played football, it would not have changed how Deacon played. For if he was playing today he’d still insist on playing left defensive end so that he could continue to strike fear in those quarterbacks’ eyes.

What Is League of Legends?

League of Legends is a popular multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game that has recently exploded into the online gaming scene. The game is published by Riot Games and was first released in 2009 for Mac and PC, the Mac client was later closed down.

The game offers the standard 5v5 game mode available in other MOBA games which pits two teams against each other on a map (called Summoner’s Rift) with the main goal being to destroy the enemies base (Nexus).

League of Legends added a 3v3 option to the MOBA genre and introduced the Dominion gameplay mode. In Dominion players are required to capture and hold five objective points to reduce the enemies Nexus health. This game mode is aimed at creating a faster paced gameplay mode.

Influence Points

Influence Points are the main currency in League of Legends which are given to players for playing games. The amount earned varies based on several factors including the game result, summoner level and the number of bots in the game.

Influence Points (also known as IP) are used to purchase in-game items such as champions and runes.

Riot Points

Riot Points are the other currency available and are available via PayPal, credit/debit card or prepaid Riot Point Game Cards.

Riot Points can unlock rune pages, champions and various boosts (experience and influence points). However, Riot Points cannot be spent on runes. Riot Points can be earned for free through various activities (such as referring friends to League of Legends).

Runes

Runes add a level of customisation to League of Legends. Players can increase a variety of stats such as health, damage, mana regeneration, movement speed and many other stats. This allows players to play the same champion but play them in a different way based on rune and mastery choices.

Champions

Players can choose from over 92 playable champions (and this number continues to grow every week).

Champions must be unlocked with Riot Points or Influence Points before they can be played. However, there are a number of free champions available to play each week to give summoners the option to trial champions before purchasing them. There are many champion types available including assassins, bruisers, supports, casters, junglers and tanks.

Ranked Matches

These games are just like standard games except that players are given a ranking based on the result of the game, this is known as the ELO ranking system which is also used in chess. This system has created what is known as ‘ELO Hell’, a place in the ELO system that is filled with poor players and intentional griefers, this section in the ELO system is hard to escape due to the team nature of the MOBA genre.

Conclusions

The game systems behind League of Legends are the reason for its success among the MOBA game genre. The game continues to take the genre by storm with its 5 million dollar prize pool for the 2012 game circuit. Check out their official website for full details: League of Legends Official Site.

I Used to Scoff at People Who "Forgot To Eat"

I used to scoff at people who would say they were so busy they «forgot to eat.»

When I was in college, I was an art major and spent many, many hours in the art department building working on projects. I remember being there late at night or working the weekends away, and other students would lament that they hadn’t eaten all day because they were so focused they «forgot.»

How could someone forget to eat??

I never seemed to be able to stop thinking about food, as much as I wanted to. I was either considering when it was time to go eat or scrutinizing if I’d eaten too much or trying to watch portions so that I could lose weight.

One day several years later, I was at marketing conference and invited to a fancy restaurant to join a group of highly successful entrepreneurs. As I looked over the menu, I could see there was nothing less than $50 on the menu. Focusing more on what I was going to order than the people around me, I dropped out of the conversation. I became wrapped up in trying to decide what would be filling but not fattening, the best choice for my money, etc.

Across the table from me was a woman who was absolutely gorgeous. Not just beautiful in the traditional sense, but stunning in every part of her being: the way she carried herself, her laugh, her colorful, form-fitting dress, everything. I was captivated by how comfortable she seemed in her body, classy and poised yet bold.

As the waiter came and took our orders, this woman ordered several rich appetizers, a salad and a main course. I was mildly surprised, wondering where she was going to put all the food since she was very slim.

Throughout the meal, I noticed the woman took a bite here, a bite there… but mostly stayed completely involved in the conversations around her. She seemed completely engaged in the people she was talking with, and disinterested in her plate. As the waiter came and took plates away, the guy next to her commented that she hadn’t touched much.

I can still hear her voice in my head saying, «Yeah, I enjoy the presentation and savoring the best things on the menu, but it’s boring after a few bites.»

I had never thought about food that way before. Food could be boring? It was always something I was either looking forward to or trying not to obsess over… but never boring.

This woman clearly thought about food differently than I did. And, to be completely vein, I could see that clearly her thoughts were serving her figure and her level of enjoyment more than mine were.

Here I had devoted 30-40% of my attention at that dinner wrapped up in what I was ordering, how much it was, if it was too indulgent, etc. rather than being present with the amazing people around me. I was coming from a scarcity mindset both in my attitude towards money as well as food.

This woman clearly didn’t bat an eye at the prices, was quite happy to enjoy savoring the richest bites and was fully attentive to the people around her. She was operating from a place of authentic abundance on multiple levels, and she gave off that vibe. It was captivating to all those around her, including me.

Both the art students from college and this woman stuck out in my mind as I became seriously upset with my relationship with food.

I had grown up in a family that loved to eat; food was involved with socializing, rewarding, playing, relaxing. Forgetting to eat or being so extravagant would have been brushed off as «unhealthy» or «wasteful» – negative connotations.

Yet these people didn’t occur to me now to be unhealthy or wasteful. They simply had another approach. I started to see a whole world of beliefs or «invisible scripts» I had about food (and money, and scarcity). The more I started to look at how other people that I admired approached food, I learned there are reasons OTHER THAN THE FOOD to go to a nice restaurant. I also learned that there were many other ways to think about food, and none are «right» or «wrong.» They’re just different ways-and if the way I was approaching food wasn’t serving me any longer, than I needed to experiment with other ways.

(Likewise with the ways I approach money, or work, or sex… but that’s another rabbit hole too deep to get into here.)

I also realized that if you try to change your approach around the people who are comfortable with the way you have always been, it can be extremely difficult.

Most people aren’t comfortable with change-and they aren’t comfortable with YOU changing because it throws off their perception of you and challenges their own beliefs.

Which is why, If you politely decline a piece of cake at a birthday party, they’ll probably say, «Come on, it’s Susie’s birthday! You can at least have a small piece… «

So not only are you facing questioning your own beliefs, you’re also up against forces that don’t want you to change the way you are. This is why SO MANY people fail to create new habits or routines in their life, even with the best of intentions. It’s a very tough wall to climb.

If I had stayed with my old beliefs and patterns that were comfortable to those around me, I’d still have a binge eating disorder. I’d still be desperate and quietly dying inside, hating myself and losing motivation across all areas of my life.

Guess what? It’s NORMAL to grow, to feel dissatisfied with where things currently are and to yearn for more. Life is about growing, changing and evolving. You see it everywhere around you: in nature, childhood, education, investing, etc.

There’s nothing bad or «wrong» with you for wanting more, or for questioning your current approach to food (or any area of your life). While those around you may suggest that it’s better to stay as you are, I’m here to cheer for you WANTING MORE.

Not just more satisfaction with your relationship with food. More fun. More play. More peace. More wealth. More success.

How are you going to get MORE?

It starts by figuring out what’s keeping you where you’re at.

If you ask yourself why you haven’t already gotten to that «more» point, what’s your answer? What reasoning do you come up with? Keep in mind that your brain is going to rationalize in any way that it can as to why you can’t grow or change. Remember the animal brain? The part that is committed to your survival? That part doesn’t like change. It will fight it in any way that it can, because it’s the unknown where it cannot ensure your survival. So you’re going to have all sorts of excuses coming up when you try to change what you’re doing now.

But before you get too stuck in a battle of wills with yourself, trying to force a new approach, look for people that have achieved that «more» state that you would like for yourself. Who has a relationship with food that you admire? Who has created peace, wealth or success in a way that you would like to?

What’s different about their approach? See if you can guess what beliefs they have about themselves and these areas of their lives.

The more examples you can find, the better. Then experiment. Play with a new approach for a day. If it suits you, keep it for another day.

If it means going into the fanciest restaurant in your city and ordering the most indulgent items on the menu, taking a bite or two of each and then being finished with the meal… try it.

If it means investing in a new coat that’s three times more than what you «should» pay (but you know you’ll wear it for the next 6 years because you love it so much)… try it.

If it means taking a day off from work in the middle of the week to stay at home and watch your favorite movies all day because you need a break… try it.

Whatever you experiment with, the more uncomfortable it feels to do it-the better.

That’s a good indication that you’re on the path to challenging your deeply-rooted beliefs and transforming into the next phase of yourself.

The more, the better…

Season 2010 – 2011 Soccer Teams Of the Year

Barcelona

Josep Guardiola has turned Barcelona into the best football club in Spain for the past couple of seasons. Real Madrid was top of the pile but recent seasons haven’t seen consistency at Madrid and Barcelona has triumphed. Barcelona are currently top of the Spanish La Liga by 5 points, ahead of Real Madrid. Barcelona earns many plaudits for the way the play the game, the ‘beautiful way’. With Xavi and Iniesta in the heart of the Barcelona midfield, they have two of the best passers of the game and they are the heart beat of the Barcelona side.

Xavi and Iniesta have been phenomenal this season, but as always, there is one man at Barcelona who always steals the show. Lionel Messi, 43 goals in 35 starts already this season is a phenomenal record. Lionel Messi is one of the best players in the world and possibly the best of this era. His ability to keep the ball away from defenders and to open up defences with his dribbling has the crowd on the edge of their seats throughout the game. Words can’t describe how good Messi is and his sensational form this season has seen the success of Barcelona this season, domestically in the La Liga and in the Champions League. Not only has Lionel Messi been in formidable form, but the recent acquisition of David Villa this season who has 21 goals in 36 games himself has seen the attacking threat of Barcelona prove too much for any side this season.

Not only does it help having two strikers that can create a goal from nothing, but they have a midfield that works tirelessly when off the ball that makes it very easy for Barcelona to defend as shown in the recent 4-3 aggregate win over Arsenal in the Champions League. Again they are favourites to win the Champions League despite being knocked out last year to Inter Milan, Barcelona brushed aside Arsenal at the Nou Camp and look unbeatable at home in the competition.

Not to mention that Barcelona play Real Madrid in the Spanish Cup final in April that they happen to be favourites for that as well. Barcelona’s attacking flair and ability to keep the ball in all circumstances under any amounts of pressure is the main attribute for their success. Puyol is the leader at the back for Barcelona and he’s been missing for a couple of months through injury but they still look resolute and assured in defence, emphasising the side Guardiola has formed to be labelled one of the best teams in world football.

Barcelona possesses 7 regular Spanish internationals that have won the European Championships (2008) and World Cup (2010) in succession to dominate the national competitions. These 7 internationals consisting of: Puyol, Pique, Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Pedro and David Villa, thrown in with Dani Alves, Lionel Messi, Eric Abidal and substitute Spanish keeper Victor Valdes, you’re inevitably going to get a squad that’s near enough perfection.

Real Madrid

Despite Barcelona’s dominance, Real Madrid have ran Barcelona close and have a superior side of their own which consists of the worlds superstars which came at a hefty price. Cristiano Ronaldo was signed for 80 million pounds, Kaka was purchased for 50 million pounds and Benzema was 30 million pounds. Oh, and combined with the signings of Mesut Ozil, Sami Khedira, Angel Di Maria and Xabi Alonso. The forward seven of the team that has been glued together with Iker Casillas, Pepe, Marcelo and Sergio Ramos, it’s obvious to say you’re going to have a team with ability in abundance.

Despite the list of megastars Real Madrid have at their disposal, Real Madrid have yet to really explode this season but nevertheless, they still have got a good chance of winning the treble this season. That statement sums up Real Madrid this season, despite not playing at full potential consistently; they’re still competing for 3 major trophies which is frightening for the clubs competing against them.

Jose Mourinho is in his first season at Real Madrid and his first in Spain. He has a big fixture coming up in the form of Lyon in the last 16 of the Champions League which astonishingly, they’ve been knocked out at this stage of the competition for the last 6 years running despite Real Madrid’s force. Jose Mourinho’s arrival in Real Madrid was very much with the Champions League in mind having won the competition with Inter Milan in the previous season.

Cristiano Ronaldo, a Champions League winner with Manchester United in 2010, will want to help carry the battle for Real Madrid and since his arrival in Spain he has been vital asset to the Galaticos. He has notched on average 1 goal every game for Real Madrid (53 goals in 55 games) which is an incredible start to his Madrid career. So far this season he has scored 28 in 26 and has 8 assists to his name in the La Liga to date that includes 5 hat tricks so far this season. Currently he is injured which is a big blow to Real Madrid if they want to progress in the Champions League and push for the La Liga title in Spain. Ronaldo’s overall game has been stated by many Football pundits to be the best in the world, with Ronaldo having the feet of the winger and finishing of a striker added with a very good ability to score goals with his head. All these fundamental parts of his game create a world class player.

Real Madrid has yet to gel together with all the world class players they have in one squad, but with Jose Mourinho’s impact on Real Madrid in full flight, it’s only a matter of time before the players and supporters unite as one and become the potent side that Real Madrid used to be in the days of Zidane and Figo.

Manchester United

Similarly to Real Madrid, Manchester United haven’t been at their superior best and not played at the standard they have done in previous seasons. Fortunately for Manchester United, other teams in the English Premiership have not maintained any consistency either and can’t compete against Manchester United’s ability to grind out results. Manchester United are currently 1st in the English Premiership and still in the Champions League as well as the FA cup semi-finals. This is despite having a particularly average season performance wise by Manchester United’s high standards.

A lot of Manchester United’s success this season has to go down to Sir Alex Ferguson. Despite being one of Manchester United’s weakest sides in his years at the club, he has still worked wonders with them this season. He has used Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes so effectively this season for players that are at the age that are unable to compete competitively 2 times a week.

The dip in form of Wayne Rooney has seen other players around him step up to the mark and perform at their best which has also seen the success of Manchester United this season. Dimitar Berbatov has excelled massively this season and has already hit two hat tricks, against Liverpool and Blackburn respectively. Javier Hernandez has also been pivotal this season and has scored vital goals this season in what is his first season in English football. The Mexican striker signing for 7 million pounds this season has scored 16 goals so far, is one of the signings of the 2010/2011 season. Nani and Ryan Giggs have also been in exceptional form this season that has helped contribute to Manchester United’s results this season and they will need to carry that form on for several more weeks if they are to win that illusive 19th English Premiership title that will see them go past Liverpool’s record of 18 English Premiership titles.

Manchester United’s quality in depth has also been a strong reason for their success this season. The English side have been hit with unfortunate injuries this season too many of their leading stars. Rio Ferdinand has been hit and miss this season with injuries but Chris Smalling has been a revelation since signing from Fulham and definitely looks one for the future. Antonio Valencia’s unfortunate injury has seen Nani deliver consistency in his performances which has turned him into one of the best wingers currently due to being given much more match time than last season. Gary Neville’s long term replacement, Rafael has come on leaps and bounds since the start of the season which saw Neville lose his place to the young Brazilian and recently the former England international retired from football. Rafael is now ever present in the Manchester United side.

Tottenham

Tottenham have exploded on the European scene this season, and people in Milan won’t need reminding. Tottenham were desperately unlucky to lose in the group stage 4-3 to Inter Milan with Gareth Bale hitting a hat trick at the San Siro. Tottenham beat them in the home tie and also recently knocked out AC Milan in the knockout rounds of the Champions League to progress to the last eight of the competition.

The success has been down to a number of different aspects of the club that have been significantly improved to make Tottenham one of best sides in England. They have found a consistent manager in Harry Redknapp and is regarded as one of the best managers in England. He has helped stabilise the club and has brought the best out of all his players. His wheeling and dealing in the market has also provided Tottenham with one of the strongest sides in the English Premiership in depth. With Niko Kranjcar, Roman Pavlyuchenko and a host of other stars finding it hard to break into the side proves how strong the Tottenham side is.

Tottenham have been helped by one of the best players in the world this season. The vast improvement of Gareth Bale this season has earned him many plaudits and deservedly so. Gareth Bale’s performances this season are right up there with Lionel Messi this campaign and he has been speculated about in national newspapers about possible moves to Manchester United or Inter Milan. The left sided midfielder is already in double figures this season and has set up numerous goals for his side; his hat trick against Inter Milan at the San Siro has been one of the highlights of the football season.

Not only has Gareth Bale been in great form this season, but Rafael Van Der Vaart’s first season in English football has been priceless. Van Der Vaart was signed by Redknapp for a bargain 8 million pounds, one of the best signings of Tottenham’s history. Van Der Vaart has been a shrewd signing by Redknapp, playing just off the front man he has revelled in the role and has been one of Tottenham’s best players this season. Not only the form of Van Der Vaart and Bale, but Luka Modric has also been very impressive this season, dictating the way Tottenham play. Tottenham have the perfect balance of creativity and aggression in midfield with the Modric – Palacios combination.

Borussia Dortmund

Nine points clear at the top of the German Bundesliga see’s Dortmund the certain favourites to take the title this season. Despite a poor season in the Europa League, Dortmund have came out triumphant in the German Bundesliga, taking usual title challengers Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen by storm. If they go on to win the league, it will be the clubs first major silverware for 13 years, and completely taking the league by shock which they deserve to win with their performances this season.

The Dortmund squad have a fantastic team spirit and always keep the club’s off the field problems under wraps keeping a close harmony at the club. They are very discrete with no natural ‘stand out’ players, there aren’t any players who think their too big for the club which makes the squad solid as a unit and a togetherness at the club. Dortmund has some of the brightest prospects coming up at the club in Mats Hummels and Neven Subotic. The pair has formed a superb partnership at the heart of the defence for Dortmund which has seen them concede a mere 15 goals in 26 games, the best defence in the league by 18 goals.

Dortmund have already done the double over Bayern Munich and despite losing to Leverkusen on the opening day of the season at home, Dortmund later got revenge on Leverkusen by beating them at Leverkusen’s ground 2-0. This proves that they are one of the best clubs in Germany at present, not only just beating the teams who are struggling this season but getting good results against the best teams in Germany.

The key now for Dortmund is hanging onto these players and maintaining such a good season and carrying it onto next season and in the Champions League next season which seems a certainty in the position they are currently in. No doubt the top European clubs will be looking to get Hummels and Subotic on their books so they will need backing financially to help keep hold of their assets. Attacking midfielder Shinji Kagawa has already been linked with Manchester United in the January transfer window having scored an impressive 12 goals in 25 games from midfield this season.
