Will Messi Win the World Cup?

One of the endless debates in the football arena is the one about who is the best player that ever played the game. Pele and Maradona are the most common names for this flattering title but recently young Lionel Messi challenged the trends. Not only by interfering between the two football giants, but seriously threatening to take the position as the sole king on the throne.

Arguably the only remaining barrier on Messi’s way is the World Cup title. Given the Argentinian’s age and form Brazil 2014 seems to be Messi’s golden ticket to take yet another and ultimate title as the greatest footballer of all times.

Messi has been breaking record after record in the last few years and pushed the football standards to levels that were unthinkable not a long ago. He managed to raise the season goal/game ratio above 1.0 and with the pace of the last years he can become the highest UEFA Champions League scorer of all time at age of 26. He is also one of the main pretenders for the 5th consecutive ballon d’Or which is already his record (currently he is the holder of four consecutive titles).

Despite all the statistics many football experts are arguing that in order to be considered the best footballer one needs to win the World Cup which is the most important event in the football world. By achieving that Messi will undoubtedly join Pele and Maradona in the endless battle. Moreover if considering his young age he has the possibility to permanently settle himself as the best footballer of all time.

Brazil 2014 will be another battle between the two contemporary best football players Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Both players achieved many victories with clubs (Barcelona and Real Madrd) but they still miss important international trophies with their respective national teams (Argentina and Portugal) therefore the World Cup will be a great occasion for the two to prove themselves also on national team stages and gain valuable points in their ongoing battle.

In the beginning of the 2013/2014 season has been experiencing some hard times because of repetitive injuries. He has been playing on extremely high levels for the last 5 years and some are speculating that now the side effects are showing up. Nevertheless the football lovers hope that he will be totally recovered and fit for the most important event of this season which is the world cup in Brazil 2014.

EPL 2011-12: Manchester United Vs Tottenham Match Time

Premier League match time dawns at Old Trafford as Manchester United clash with Tottenham on Monday, August 22.

While champions United began their Premiership campaign with a 2-1 win, away at West Brom, Tottenham will be playing their first game, their opening match with Everton scheduled for August 13 having been postponed owing to damage done to the local area during the London riots.

Manchester United’s victory at The Hawthorns came at the cost of injuries to Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand whose appearance in the Tottenham game will hinge on a reassessment of their match fitness. Both players walked off in the second half, Vidic with a calf injury, and Ferdinand with a hamstring strain.

Another worry for Sir Alex Ferguson must be the poor showing of David De Gea, between the posts. With the departure of Van der Sar, Manchester United have lost a vital cog of recent years, and if the young Spaniard De Gea was expected to fill the Dutchman’s boots with any degree of conviction, De Gea’s nervous debut against West Brom did nothing to support that expectation.

In fact, it was a judgement error from De Gea that brought West Brom back into the game via a 37th minute equaliser from Long, after a Rooney strike put the Red Devils ahead on 13 minutes. United’s win hinged on an own goal from Reid with 10 minutes of regulation time left.

For United, the brightest memory from the West Brom game would have been the brilliant performance of Ashley Young. Apart from the assist to Rooney that gave Ferguson’s wards their first goal, it was Young’s effort that Reid deflected into his own goal to give Manchester United their winner.

The last time these teams met was at White Hart Lane in January, earlier this year. That match ended in a goalless draw, in a tale of missed opportunities for both sides.

The United attack appears to have got into an early groove following their come-from-behind win in the Community Shield encounter with Manchester City. The champions are always formidable opponents, playing before home fans, at Old Trafford. More than anything else, Monday’s match could be a test of resolve, for Tottenham’s back-line.

And while Manchester United must be considered favourites to retain their crown, it will be interesting to see how they contend with the challenge posted by a top six club, early in the season.

Buying Horse Jumps to Prepare For the Show Ring

If you’re thinking about competing in hunter jumper A and B rated shows, you will want to do everything you can to be totally prepared. Not only do you need to be prepared, but your horse does as well, and that means exposing them to as many show-type jumps as possible. There is nothing worse than walking into the show ring and having your horse refuse at the very first jump. Even if you don’t have a very spooky horse, it’s a good idea to expose them to a wide range of jumps so you both know what to expect. Here are a few things jumps you should add to your training arena.

Liverpool

A Liverpool is incredibly important to have at home if you plan on competing in jumpers or top-level equitation. Even the most solid horses tend to take a hard look at water jumps. A good alternative to water is to have a blue tarp that you can spread out under the jump.

Brick Wall

Brick walls are actually just wooden boxes painted to look like bricks. The bright colors and solid features can sometimes be scary to horses.

Roll Top

Roll tops are made out of wood and can be found painted in a range of colors. However, horse shows generally have roll tops that are covered in a green artificial grass.

Flower and Brush Boxes

You should have plenty of flower and brush boxes with a variety of different colored artificial flowers for each box.

Planks and Gates

Planks and gates are great for filling out jumps and creating a different look for each obstacle. Make sure they are varied both in color and design.

Once you have all of these additional jumps, remember to change them up regularly. You want your horse to see new jumps all the time, so by changing boxes, rearranging the course and adding new flowers, you are giving yourself the best chance of doing well once you reach the show arena. On a final note, remember to practice jumping very plain, simple white fences too – sometimes those are the spookiest!

Double Eagle Flex Defense

Double Eagle Flex Defense is one of the most innovative defenses in a long time, the «Desert Swarm» turned things around at The University of Arizona a few years back.

You do not see much of this defense today. If you can run it effectively the chances are that your opponent has not seen it either!

Double eagle flex is a different type of defense than what you’ve probably seen most of the time watching on TV or ever run before of your team.

Double eagle flex is a defense also known as the Desert Swarm defense that was developed with Arizona, with Dick Tomey as the coach. Desert swarm was a different, kind of revolutionary defense that turned around the program in Arizona in early 1990.

What we’ve got is based off of a 4-3 defense somewhat, with just a few changes. On the strong side you can see the similarity to the 4-3 or 4-2-5 defense – where you get a tackle in a strong 3 technique and the Defensive End is set, could be more of like 4-4 or 4-2-5, inside shade of the tight End.

The strong safety is always going to be your overhang player. We are just going to adjust. He’s going to be three by three off of the end man on the line of scrimmage, the tight End in this case. If you were to get the two receivers you would split the difference there. If you got three you’ll walk out to split 2 and 3, you can use him to deal with different types of formation.

The Mike linebacker is in a 30 technique. He’s going to be five yards off the ball, outside shade of the guard. You can step behind of the tackle just like you would be in a 4-2-5. He is going to have responsibilities for that A gap. You can also scrape over the top if it would be some sort of a power play outside. You got your box player or strong safety to fleet off the edge.

Now things start to change on the weak side. We’re going to have the tilted nose tilted at the neck of that center. He is attacking to that center neck every single play. There’s no way you can still double team because there’s no way their guard can overtake you. The center can’t walk in on weak side run plays.

This is going to be very effective in enforcing different example of this offense. Now you got your flex player, okay, I want to put down the Will, but put whatever player you want down there.

The flex player is going to be reading through this Guard. He reads to this Guard if two yards off the line of scrimmage in an outside shade on this guard. If read and guard blocks down he’s coming now he’s trying to block down the box player he’s going to come on now. He gets to blocks. He’s going to squeeze that block back to A gap there control B gap there where your B gap player. If he reads flow away take flow away from him. He gets to flow away, breaking over the top – you’re going to get an extra player to flow side with your flex player.

There’s no way the center can back block in there, he’s going to be go straight over top. It’s a very different look to the offense line. Your edge player is going to be outside and he’s going to a ghost 9 where our tight end would be – he’s very loose. He’s tilted.

Play all those like he would play with a safety over here. If you’re coming from if you’re are coming from a 4-2-5 you may use your defensive ends right here and your weak safety out here and then your two inside backers.

Second inside backer play is very similar to the Mike, his gap sound over here. If he’s throwing the ball – you got cover three shell behind it you, or could also play man coverage with it and use your strong safety as your adjuster.

Now double eagle flex, if something added to your package, is the change up front it is a simple thing to teach because it is very obvious for the read for the scan right here we’re still here with their two inside linebackers.

Eat Good Food. Perhaps, you already know that some foods can actually make you feel great. You know this intuitively of course. But have you tried something specifically because you knew that it has the ability to make you feel things that are relaxing and great? Get happy by trying good food from your own pantry or from the nearest resto.

Listen To Good Music. There are a huge lot of songs out there that are specifically created to help people get through a particular loss. Better yet why not create your own break up song. Express those feelings in a soulful melody. Use tunes that will make you feel liberated, strong and empowered.

Watch a Flick. Regardless if you choose a teeny bopper flick, comedy or the ultimate breakup movie, look for a movie that has a feel good script. Something that will make you laugh your heart out would awesome.

Shower. Ah yes our personal favorite and I’m pretty sure most of you will agree on this one, taking a long, warm shower can instantly make you feel better. For those who love to soak on a tub a bath works just the same. You can also go to your local pool and take a plunge.

Journal a.k.a Blog in an Old School Fashion. Are you traditionalist who would rather use a piece of paper, or are you a techno-savvy individual who loves to do their journal online instead? Either way, writing your feelings, thoughts and sentiments down is a fantastic way to release the memory of the past. And you’re also gradually liberating yourself.

Go for a Stroll. It’s easy, cheap and anybody can do it, in time of course. Strolling or simply walking gets your brain working (this mechanism helps you to meditate) and it also gets the blood coursing. You can always go for a stroll with a family member or a friend and have a conversation. Talk to them with whatever topic is on your mind. You and your walking buddy can also explore a new hiking trail or find a trail path that leads to a serene place.

Get a Drum. There are a lot of studies performed and it showed that drumming helps to calm down one’s nerves, process grief, make you feel good and even aids you with a huge array of physical ailments. If you try to join a drumming circle you will meet a community of like-minded individuals to learn and grow with as well.

Practice Relaxed Breathing. Most people underestimate the power of breathing. Relaxed breathing makes you feel fueled and it calms down your nerves. It can take a bit of practice to do conscious breathing or focused breathing but once you get the hang of it you’ll learn be able to reap its benefits.

Join a Yoga Class. Great for flexibility, and a fantastic mood-enhancer, yoga is a brilliant tool in your feel good arsenal.

Break ups. Even those parting ways that’s done amicably can still sting. When you’re grieving the end of your relationship, make sure to do yourself a favor: after you curled yourself to sleep get up and make yourself feel better. And if none of the tips here you think doesn’t work, try to keep this in mind: «In the end, everything will turn out okay. If it’s not okay, then it is not the end.»

Diets and Their Issues

What does the word diet mean? According to the oxford dictionary the word diet means the kind of food people eat. This can clearly be the case because according to the company Boots there are over 100 many types of diets, from the alkaline diet, to the zone diet. There are a vast majority of them, with their benefits and their downfalls. However are these diets successful? Are they long term? Do we lose weight on them?

As we all approach the festive season, and the New Year, people at this time are looking at what foods they want to cut down on, or what new fad diet they would like to try. But overall will these work in the long term?

According to the magazine psychology today, researchers tested this methodology on various clients, it was found that there were other aspects to health, not just dieting, and weight loss, but also reduced blood pressure and cholesterol. The clients did not lose weight, however they had a positive attitude about themselves. In that respect diets can be a positive awareness, or on the other end of the spectrum diets can be seen as negative. For example a study carried out by Leicester City Council concluded that due to a poor diet they were unable to achieve the healthier diet that is recommended by the health professionals. A poor diet can mean lack of essential vitamins and minerals. Lack of vitamins and minerals can cause an array of problems. From feeling tired, to poor vision at night time, dry skin, fatigue, and soft bones. In relation to the popular diets out there each of the diets have problems if they are not followed properly, or not researched for suitability.

The Dr Dukan diet was set up by Pierre Dukan in 2000. His aims and objectives were:

To increase a higher intake of protein.

To have a no limit of calories or the types of food you can eat, therefore people can eat whatever and whenever.

However there are some known issues of this diet, this includes:

The cost of purchasing the higher protein foods, i.e. meat, chicken, pork, nuts and seeds

The suitability for people on a restrictive diet for example, vegetarians or gluten free clients.

However there are some positives of this particular diet, one of them is that it is high in protein, which is important for the growth of new cells in the body, this can include hair, skin and nails. Another feature is that there is no limit of the amount of calories or types of food you can eat. Finally there is a limit on the amount of foods high in sugar, as excess sugar can lead to weight gain.

Another example of this is the cheater’s diet. This was created by Paul Rivas. He stated that by basing the meals on a Mediterranean style diet during the week, at the weekend cheat days are highly encouraged. Rivas explains that by having cheat days there is no restriction on having food and drink that consumers love to have, which include foods that may not be the healthiest of products. The diet is also supported by encouraging exercise.

According to a journal published by the European Journal of clinical nutrition, the writer Robinson explained that there were other factors that affected diet and lifestyle. While educational attainment had the strongest effects on diet, age, number of children living in the home, the number of people that smoked and the number of hours spent watching television, all were the contributing factors on the amount of exercise completed daily.

From the study it was concluded that the barriers that identified the issues facing diet and lifestyle, were to improve the quality of life, and not just based on weight loss alone. A study carried out by Yardley et al demonstrated that a combination of web based and health professional support for weight management could potentially offer a cost effective means of motivating obese patients to achieve a meaningful weight loss. It is important to be mindful that suitable diets that are recommended by Health Professionals including Dietitians, and Nutritionists are sourced by the National Clinical Governance Of Excellence (NICE). This is an organisation set up to provide guidance to improve the health and wellbeing in the United Kingdom.

Overall diets can be successful, especially for the better. As long as the vitamins, minerals as well as the macronutrients are not detrimental towards a poor diet, any diet can be positive long term, with the support of qualified health professionals.

A Short Biography of Famous Soccer Player Fabien Barthez

His complete name is Fabien Alain Barthez. He was born on 28 June 1971 in Lavelanet, France. His playing position in the field is as a Goalkeeper. He is an ex-French soccer goalkeeper who collected awards with Manchester United and the national side of French. Barthez attained the 1998 FIFA World Cup and also Euro 2000.

The Fall of the Hacienda

The Hacienda in Manchester was a legendary members-only nightclub that was arguably the most famous club of its time. Madonna’s first appearance in the United Kingdom was at the Hacienda in 1984, which was the height of her fame if that’s any indication of what kind of fanciful magic this nightclub possessed. First opened in 1982, the Hacienda experienced its glory days in the 1980s, a time that was dubbed «Madchester» in tribute to the musical awakening in Britain at this time brought on by the music played live at the clubs.

Owned and financed partially by the band New Order and its record label Factory Records, the early days of the Hacienda were surprisingly relaxed, featuring bands such as Ministry of Sound, Cream, and The Smiths. The late 80s saw the advent of the unique sounds of acid house and a new kind of party: the rave. The maniacal rave scene was highlighted by the use of ecstasy, laser light shows, and fast paced electronic music and it changed the landscape of nightclubs all throughout England. By 1986, DJ’s playing house music had replaced live bands and the club gained world wide acclaim.

The turning point in the Hacienda’s notoriety came in 1989 when a 16 year old girl named Claire Leighton collapsed as a result of complications from ingesting ecstasy, and died shortly thereafter. Unfortunately, this was the beginning of the end and after several rocky years, the Hacienda finally closed in 1997. An apartment building of the same name now stands on the spot of the original Hacienda at 11-13 Whitworth Street West; developers demolished the original building. The interior fixtures, including pieces from the DJ booth, were sold at auction in November 2000 with all proceeds going to charity.

Visitors to the site of the Hacienda today will find themselves in the city centre of Manchester, an area that is, not the least bit surprisingly, a hot bed of clubs and bars. Although Piccadilly Station is nearby, most tourists walk the area of city centre, which is quite small. With a wide selection of hotels, Manchester has a lot to offer the overnight guest. Local cuisine consists of anything from Thai to French to Japanese to Indian. Many locations match up an award winning restaurant to one of the finest Manchester hotels, so guests can opt for a night in after a long day of seeing the sights of this infamous musical city.
