Why Omaha Would Be A Great Fit For An NFL Team

The NFL is an ever growing sport that continues to expand its doors and horizons to new markets. Twenty years ago, the NFL expanded its markets to the Carolinas by establishing the Carolina Panthers and to Northern Florida by establishing the Jacksonville Jaguars. In the near future, the NFL may decide to once again expand to new markets around the country. In this article, I will discuss why Omaha would be a great market for a new NFL franchise.

Omaha Has A Solid Steak Culture

One of the great associations with watching football is food. People like to eat different kinds of food while watching the game whether it is at home or live at the game. Among these foods is various types of meats and different cuts of meat whether it is by itself or on sandwiches. Omaha is no stranger when it comes to production of meat.

Omaha is well known for its various steaks and steakhouses around the area. The fans there would love nothing more than to enjoy a nice juicy steak or cut of steak during the game. It makes perfect sense for the hardcore fan to be able to grill a nice juicy steak as part of a tailgate before a big game or to enjoy a steak from the comforts of their own home near the stadium. It would be a perfect fit for an NFL franchise as Omaha caters to the hardcore NFL fan, of which there are many around the country.

Omaha Already Has A Strong Sports Culture

The University of Nebraska, which is located an hour away from Omaha, has a storied college football program as well as a solid fan base. Omaha is also home to the College World Series. Fans would definitely be willing to embrace an NFL team that they would not have to travel very far to see. With such a solid fan base in place, it makes good sense to put an NFL team in Omaha in the near future.

It Would Open Doors To A Fanbase In The Mid-Northwestern United States

One of the biggest regions in the United States that does not have a nearby team is the northwest which includes states such as Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, and the Dakotas. The Seattle Seahawks arrival in 1976 helped establish a fanbase in the Pacific Northwest in states such as Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. However, there are still many states in the northwest such as Montana, Wyoming, and the Dakotas that feel left out because they are not anywhere near an NFL team. The presence of a team in Omaha gives these states a team to cheer for and possibly make the trip to see.

When Is It Legal to Record Telephone Calls?

Recording telephone calls and in-person conversations is a common practice of undercover private investigators as well as aggressive investigative journalists. Such recordings can make or break a case or investigation.

In fact, most private investigators view undercover recording as an indispensable tool in their arsenal. However, others don't use recordings because of the complex legal risks that it creates.

There are important questions of law that must be fully understood before developing a consistent policy about making and using undercover recordings. Both federal and state statutes govern the use of electronic recording equipment. The unlawful use of such equipment can give rise not only to civil lawsuits brought by the "harmed" parties, but also criminal prosecution is possible.

Accordingly, it is critical that investigators, lawyers and journalists fully understand all the laws that may apply to a given set of circumstances, and appreciate what their rights and responsibilities are when recording and disclosing communications.

Although many of the relevant statutes address wiretapping and eavesdropping ( ie, listening in on conversations of others without their knowledge), these same laws may apply to recording of any conversations, including phone calls and in-person discussions.

Federal law generally allows recording of telephone calls and other electronic communications with the consent of at least one party to the call. A majority of the states and territories have adopted wiretapping statutes based on this federal law, although most also have extended the law to cover in-person conversations.

Thirty-eight states and the District of Columbia permit individuals to record conversations to which they are a party, without expressly informing the other parties that they are doing so. These states are generally referred to as "one-party consent" states, and as long as the investigator (or the person doing the recording) is a party to the conversation, it is legal for him to record it.

Twelve other states require, under most circumstances, the consent of ALL parties to a conversation. Those jurisdictions are California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Washington.

Regardless of the specific jurisdiction involved, it is almost always illegal to record a conversation to which you are NOT a party, do not have consent to tape, and could not naturally overhear in a public place.

Additionally, complex legal concerns can arise when interstate telephone calls are recorded by one of the parties to the call. For example, an investigator located in New York State who records a telephone conversation without the consent of a party located in Illinois would not violate New York State law, but could be civilly and even criminally liable under Illinois law.

A court located in New York State may even apply Illinois' laws, depending on its "conflict of laws" rules. Therefore, an aggrieved party may choose to file suit or a criminal complaint in either jurisdiction, depending on which law is ultimately more favorable to the party's claim (and where jurisdiction lies).

Additionally, federal law may apply when the conversation is between parties who are in different states, although it is unsettled whether a court will hold in a given case that federal law preempts state law.

Therefore, in light of the complex laws governing electronic recording of conversations between private parties, private investigators are strongly advised to err on the side of caution when recording or disclosing an interstate telephone call.

7 Ways to Use Website Audio in Your Marketing Arsenal

Most visitors to your website are using computers with audio capabilities. Recently introduced techniques make it easy to take advantage of this capability.

In the past, web audio was primarily decorative, consisting of musical fanfares or other clichéd sound effects. Now, you can use audio to multiply the impact of your message and create stronger bonds with your visitors.

Audio’s power comes from its ability to engage more of your visitor’s senses. The more senses you engage, the easier it will be to effectively communicate. Instead of just reading your words and looking at your picture, you can communicate with your voice – and the voices of your clients.

The power of audio can be appreciated by comparing the newspaper column version of Tom and Ray Magliozzi’s Car Talk with the program aired each week on National Public Radio. Although the newspaper column and radio program address the same topics, it’s far more fun to listen to Car Talk – where you can experience Tom and Ray’s intonations and phrasing – than to read the same words.

Here are some of the ways you can employ audio on your website:

– Welcoming messages. You can create closer emotional bonds with website visitors by personally welcoming them to your site and introducing some of the features they should explore.

– Testimonials. Audio testimonials are far more powerful that written testimonials, especially if you include a photograph of the individual speaking the testimonial. The next best thing to a face-to-face referral is a recording of a client explaining their satisfaction with your product in their own words.

– Guarantees. Your satisfaction guarantees gain impact when you deliver them in your own voice. Place them on your order form, at the point of sale. People are inherently cautious about ordering products and services from the Internet. Reassure them that their credit card and personal information are safe with you.

– Seminars and teleconferences. Short excerpts about upcoming events can make your event even more appealing. Snippets from past seminars can whet visitors’ appetites for more.

– Tips. Add interest to your site by describing an audio ‘tip of the day’ or ‘tip of the week’ in your own words. Be sure to offer access to previous tips, too.

– Audio postcards. You can include audio invitations and testimonials as links in email sent to clients and prospects. To arrange an audio testimonial, simply provide your client with a phone number and password, and invite them to call up and express their satisfaction with their purchase from you. Audio postcards are a great way to stay in contact with your clients and prospects with an announcement of an upcoming product or service. They are also a quick way to acknowledge a special occasion.

– Streaming audio can be used to allow visitors to playback longer events, like seminars or teleconferences.

When you add audio to your website, allow your visitors to maintain control. Don’t begin playing your message when the webpage loads. Instead, invite visitors to ‘click here’ to hear your voice. Keep your messages as short and concise as possible.

And avoid ‘scripting’ your introductions and guarantees. Write down the key ideas you want to communicate, but deliver them in your own words as conversationally as possible.

Web audio is no longer a futuristic luxury. Web audio is here now and it’s as close as your telephone. It is an affordable and easily added feature that can set you apart from the competition and help communicate your message with added impact.

Early Breast Cancer Detection

Most women are familiar with mammography as our «gold standard» for breast cancer screening. However, there are additional tools available that women can add to their arsenal.

One of the most effective tools in breast cancer screening is breast self-exam (BSE). However, BSE works best when women are appropriately trained in the procedure, and then followed-up with annual clinical breast exams (CBE) from their physicians. In a 2000 University of Toronto study, approximately 20,000 women were screened for breast cancer with BSE and annual CBE, and 20,000 were screened with BSE and mammograms. After more than 10 years, the BSE and annual CBE reported 610 cases of invasive breast cancer, and 105 deaths. In the BSE and mammogram group, there were 622 cases of invasive breast cancer and 107 deaths. Without question, the first line of defense against breast cancer begins with diligent BSE.

Other tools that are available to women include the AMAS (anti-malignan antibody screen) test and the NMP Nuclear matrix protein) test. Both these are blood tests that measure a certain protein in the blood that may indicate cancer. The AMAS test has been around for several years while the NMP test has not been available until only recently. Clinical trials continue in this area.

One additional tool that may detect an issue early is digital infrared thermal imaging or DITI. In 1982, the FDA approved thermography as an adjunctive tool for breast cancer screening. DITI measures heat emitted from the body and is accurate to 1/100th of a degree. DITI examines physiology, NOT structure. It is in this capacity that DITI can monitor breast HEALTH over time and alert a patient or physician to a developing problem; possibly before a lump can be seen on X-ray or palpated clinically. There are no test limitations such as breast density. DITI is a non-invasive test that does not emit radiation.

The unique characteristics of cancer allow DITI to detect breast cancer at an earlier stage of growth. As cancer is developing, it builds its own blood supply which is then reflected as increased heat in that particular region of the breast. DITI has a specificity of 83%; which reflects a problem in its early stages of development not late-stage cancer as in mammography. An abnormal thermogram carries a 10-times greater risk for cancer and a persistently abnormal thermogram carries a 22-times greater risk for cancer.

Clinical research studies continue to support thermography’s role as an adjunctive tool in breast cancer screening and the ONLY tool that measures breast health over time. There are now more than 800 publications on over 300,000 women in clinical trials. A recent finding published in the American Journal of Radiology in 2003 showed that thermography has 99% sensitivity in identifying breast cancer with single examinations and limited views. Scientists concluded that a negative thermogram is powerful evidence that cancer is not present.

Thermographic screening is not covered by most insurance companies but is surprisingly affordable for most people. For more information or to find a certified clinic in your area, go to [http://www.proactivehealthonline.com].

Roma’s Impossible Mission

Looking at the facts of what has gone on this season; no Italian side has managed to score away from home against any of their English counterparts with AC Milan, Inter Milan, Roma and Fiorentina failing to score at Arsenal, Liverpool, United and Everton respectfully this season.

Those particular facts may not be relevant in this case but a more relevant observation is that Roma seem to have an inferiority complex in general and to United to be specific.

In the league match this season in Rome, United put out a virtual 2nd side as they had qualified with so many players that we had not previously heard of whilst Roma had most of their big guns out and they still could only draw 1-1 with United taking the lead.

Roma also are here without Francesco Totti and that suggests that they do not truly believe they have any chance of going through as they might have risked him if they thought there was a chance.

Putting all that aside, the main reason I do not give them and chance is that they are not just not good enough to go to Old Trafford and bettering United’s 2-0 win in Rome.

First of all they do not have Gigi Buffon or Petr Cech in goal that would give you confidence in not conceding, they have Alex Doni and he is not just good enough. They do not have strikers that take their chances went presented like David Trezeguet, Didier Drogba, Ruud Van Nistlerooy etc and the midfield is not steely enough to stop United if they feel the need to attack and score.

Like Arsenal, Roma are a joy to watch but also like Arsenal they concede too many avoidable goals and do not always make the most of the chances they create. I would dearly like for them to prove me wrong but unfortunately I do not think so as it would be a Manchester United vs Barcelona semi final as Schalke would not have the belief that they can win at the Nou Camp, no matter how much Frank Rijkaard helps them out with his tactical decisions tonight.

Adult Dating On Merseyside

The Mersey divides the metropolitan county of Merseyside into two parts. On the west side is Wirral whilst all of the remaining boroughs are located on the east. These border Lancashire and Greater Manchester. Both sides of the division have a border with Cheshire to the south.

Whichever part of Merseyside they live in, inhabitants prefer being described as living ‘ON’ Merseyside as opposed to living ‘IN’ it. Altogether there are 1.4 million people live on Merseyside, giving it a population density of 5500 people per square mile.

This level of population density creates an excellent potential for adult dating but for some reason the county doesn’t quite match up to expectations when compared to similarly highly populated areas elsewhere. Nevertheless, any seriously determined single or couple who wants to enjoy adult dating or the swinging lifestyle on Merseyside should be able to do so with relative ease.

In addition to these basic demographic factors favouring ease of contact between adult fun seekers, the city of Liverpool itself and to a lesser extent, other boroughs in the county; offer much in the way of meeting and dating places.

No reference to Liverpool is complete without mention of the Beatles and the Cavern club. It stages an average of nearly forty live performances every week and anyone choosing this historic venue as a dating rendezvous will be treated to entertainment from bands performing original music.

Liverpool’s claim to adult party venues is sadly somewhat less inspiring. A rather seedy establishment in the north of the city no longer seems to function whilst the announcement in 2007 to open a three floor venue, consisting of six private rooms, sauna, licensed bar and relaxation lounge, seems to have been less welcomed by the local community than the owners believed would be the case.

A certain city night club with a particularly liberal attitude publicly welcomes a diverse range of adult interests and suggests itself as doubling up as a swingers meeting place. Again, this is a slightly exaggerated claim but the club still makes a great rendezvous for people to meet broadminded individuals.

Despite this rather disappointing selection of commercial venues, the city has plenty of private parties and meetings to offer. These are held in hotels, luxury self catering apartments and in private homes. The only other area of Merseyside to have a regular adult party venue is the Wirral. Here there is a swingers club that maintains a predominantly ‘couples’ feel by restricting the numbers of single males attending their weekend events.

The Wirral is also a great area for privately hosted events with many couples and singles hosting some excellent meetings and parties in what are often very luxurious residences.

In order to receive invitations to parties and meetings like these, the newcomer to adult dating will first need to establish themselves as a respected and well liked member of a club that has a really active membership representation in the area. There is an art to doing this and several articles are available on the subject. You should read these and follow the tips and advice given in them. Above all else however, determination, persistence and patience will be needed. Apply those and your adult dating on Merseyside will eventually become a very rewarding experience.

Watch Sports on the Internet With ESPN360

If you do not necessarily want to buy the full Dish Network sports package, or you have basic cable and cannot afford more, or you just are one of those people still in the Dark Ages of TV with only an antenna and you still want to watch sports, that is what ESPN360.com provides. ESPN360 allows you to watch sports on the internet that you otherwise not might be able to watch. Even if you have every sports channel possible on DirecTV or Dish Network (they have more sports than anyone as they are satellite providers), you will still be able to catch a few sporting events exclusively on ESPN360 and nowhere else.

These days, a lot of internet users want to watch sports on the internet for whatever reason. Of course it helps if you have a fast connection, but fast connections are common these days. Most readers of this article will be able to watch ESPN360, provided their internet company provides it. The list of providers will continue to grow, I am sure, as it is becoming quite the popular place to watch sports on the internet in general and to watch soccer internet matches exclusively, for one.

As for the ESPN360 schedule of live events, on the day I am writing this (Thursday, October 9) I see 15 live events scheduled to show. Some events like college football, UEFA Champions League matches, NFL games, etc. will be shown live on TV and on ESPN360. For the soccer lovers who do not have the dough to be able to get all the soccer channels on satellite TV, ESPN360 includes Serie A, the Dutch league, Chinese league, U.S. soccer and other soccer matches that you will not see on any channel in the U.S. So for the soccer fanatics like me, it is fantastic to be able to watch soccer on the internet with ESPN360. They even show some futsal and beach soccer when they have tournaments.

These days, sports fans want more and more options for watching sports. I know as I am one myself. When I miss a game or can’t find it anywhere else I’m often able to go to ESPN360 online and catch it. One of the best features is they save most every game shown on ESPN360 for you to come and watch it later. You just have to search on their convenient list for the game you want to see, even after it has already ended. That is the beauty of watching TV online and that is why I think it will happen more and more in the future.

Insider’s Guide to Getting a Job in Manchester

Manchester is one of the up-and-coming cities of the UK. The Greater Manchester area has been growing steadily since 2007 and is one of the areas of the UK that has recovered most quickly from the credit crunch recession. It is the second largest functional financial region outside of London and shows a growth rate of almost twice that of the majority of UK urban areas. The expansion has been fuelled by large scale investment in services industries, particularly the financial sector. Some of the major businesses with offices and large employee bases in the Manchester region are Vodafone, the BBC, Thomas Cook, the Guardian, Kellogs, ITV and the heinous internet ogre Google.

Between them, they provide a wealth of job opportunities, however, the appeal of Manchester to job seekers is that there are also plenty of other industries. The main industry is the financial sector; banking and insurance but other opportunities are available in retail and telesales in particular. Manchester is a centre of excellence for the service sector including logistics. The latter is natural since Manchester is at the hub of the UK’s transport network with motorways and rail links radiating out in all 4 cardinal directions. There are some highly specialised niche industries that have centred on the area for example, biotechnology and environmental technology; perhaps due to the presence of the Manchester Institute of Technology (MiT) which produces many scientific and technically qualified experts.

On a human scale rather than economical scale, the city and its environs are cosmopolitan and there is a thriving cultural scene. The latter has attracted creatives to the city – check any search engine and you will find pages of advertising agencies and other creative companies based here. These include digital and print advertising, packaging design, marketing, media… the list goes on and on! So not is it a great area for technical job searches, it is also great for those on the other side of the coin looking for creative jobs. Whilst looking through available jobs, I found an unusually high (well it seemed high to me) number of jobs for linguists too – the travel industry required Polish speakers; a car rental company needed someone who spoke excellent Norwegian and there were openings fr French speakers in retail!

Salaries in Greater Manchester are very varied. For telesales and basic retail jobs, they are as low as 12,000, but you don’t have to look far for well paid managerial and technical jobs that offer 40 – 50K plus. So in other words, there is pretty much something for everyone, depending on their skills and experience.

How to find a job in Manchester

Online is a good place to start. It will save you a lot of time and several bus fares! There are thousands of advertised jobs on the usual websites like gumtree, Monster and fish4. But a really good site for job seekers is Reeds, a national recruitment agency as you can see how many others have applied for the jobs in which you are interested. For creative jobs, check out ‘The Drum’ and remember to check out the Guardian jobs pages too.

But before you even start, you should re-vamp your CV. This is best left to professionals who, after exploring the type of employment you are looking for, can provide you with an edge over the others. They will advise you on the best type of CV (yes, there are several effective ways to present a CV) and use your skills and experience to paint you in a very positive light. You, after all, are an amateur in the field, unless of course you are in HR!
