Football Stadiums of Istanbul

Turks are one of the nations that are fond of football. They try not to miss any match of their favorite teams, and are avid fans. It is by no means surprising, that in Istanbul there are many stadiums, and the majority of them correspond to the standards of the IOC. The most famous stadiums of Istanbul are Ataturk Olympic Stadium, Fenerbahce Sukru Saracoglu Stadium, Besiktas Inonu Stadium, and Ali Sami Yen Stadium.

Besiktas Inonu Stadium

The project of this stadium was elaborated by an Italian architect Paolo Vietti Violi. It was opened in Besiktas district in 1947, and had 16,000 seats. Then its name was the Mithat-pasha (the drafter of the first Turkish Constitution) stadium, and Ismet Inonu, the follower of Ataturk and the second presdient of the Turkish Republic participated at the opening ceremony. In 1973 the stadium got its new name in honor of Ismet Inonu, and till nowadays it is called Besiktas Inonu Stadium.

The place of the construction is very convenient: the stadium was built on the spot of the Dolmabahce palace stables, near the Bosporus. It is, probably, the only football stadium, where the two parts of the world – Europe and Asia – are seen from. In addition, magnificent views of the Dolmabahce palace and mosque, and the Bosporus open from the upper grandstands of the stadium. After being reconstructed in 2004 according to the standards of the UEFA, the stadium got the highest category Elite.

In the nearest future there will be another reconstruction, when the stadium will nearly completely be pulled down, and a new stadium, with 42,000 seats and transparent slip roof, will be built. Only one grandstand will be restored and preserved – Eski Acik – for it is considered the architectural monument. In addition, architects plan to build near the stadium a 5 star hotel, congress-center, shopping center, and parking area.

This stadium is the host field of the Besiktas football team, but other clubs as Galatasaray and Fenerbahce played here. However, it remains a place, where Black Eagles (an unofficial name of Besiktas players) defeated the teams of Barcelona, Liverpool, Milan, and Paris Saint Germain.

Ali Sami Yen Stadium

This stadium, which hosts Galatasaray football club, was opened in 1964. It was named after the founder of this team and their first president Ali Sami Yen, who later became the President of the National Olympic Committee of Turkey. Now the stadium has only 23,785 seats, and their matches of the European Tournaments Galatasaray holds in the Ataturk Olympic Stadium. However, Ali Sami Yen Stadium remains a place, where Galatasaray won Barcelona, Real, Manchester United, Fenerbahce, and Besiktas.

The unofficial name of Galatasaray players is Lions, and their fans name the stadium Cennehem (hell). Nowadays, Galatasaray meet their opponents with the motto Cennehem Hosgeldiniz, meaning Welcome To The Hell.

The Ali Sami Yen Stadium is in Sisli district, near the street, which leads to the Bosporus bridge. In 2007 Galatasaray started the construction of their new football stadium called Turk Telekom Arena. Besides the stadium with 58,000 seats, there will be built a covered sports hall with 15,000 seats, subway station, shopping center, and parking area.

Teemo Builds – The Popular League of Legends Champion

Captain Teemo on Duty!

Teemo is one of the most played champions in LoL. What makes him so popular? Here are some reasons why:

He’s Cute and Cuddly

When you look at him, he reminds you of a cute cuddly soft toy you would have when you go to bed.

He’s Deadly

A well-built Teemo can really own in LoL ranked games if built right. There are a couple of builds that you can use for him, depending on your opponents. I build him using 4 methods depending on the situation. They are:

  1. AP – Building him utilizing his ability power and on hit effects are the best way to go. Items that I recommend are Nashor’s Tooth, Sorcerer’s Shoes, Zhyona’s Hourglass, Frozen Mallet and Abyssal Scepter.
  2. AD – Going the attack damage route utilizes his attack speed. You will want to stack attack damage items. I would recommend Infinity Edge, Statik Shiv/Phantom Dancer, Runaan’s Hurricane and Bloodthirster. Maw of Malmortious works as well if you need some magic resist. This route will diminish the damage of your mushrooms though.
  3. Jungle – Teemo doesn’t get used as a jungler often, but if you do try it, start off with Wriggle’s Lantern, Berserker’s Greaves, Frozen Mallet and Atma’s Impaler. If you find yourself getting nuked down by burst AP champions, get Maw of Malmortious.
  4. Tank – Tank Teemo is surprisingly effective if you know how to kite well. Items that you want to get would be Frozen Mallet, Ninja Tabi, Sunfire Cape, Atma’s Impaler and Mercurial Scimatar.

Jessica Nigri Cosplay’s as Teemo

When you have Jessica Nigri doing Teemo’s cosplay, you know he is popular.

Teemo Fan-made Songs

There are actually some really huge Teemo fans making songs specifically for him. You can find them on YouTube if you type in «Captain Teemo Song» or «It’s Teemo and I Know it»

A Game Made After Him

There is game made for Teemo as part of an april fool’s joke. It is call Astro Teemo. So basically, you play him in space as you have to fly through obstacles and avoid Lux’s laser, Ashe’s frost arrow and fire walls. Getting hit by any of these means a dead Teemo.

Global Taunt

With popularity comes hate as well. Due to his ultimate Noxius Traps, where it slows everyone and damages them. The problem is that you cannot see them unless you get a true sight ward or Oracle’s elixir. That is why in public games, you so so much hate for him.

How To Determine If A Moving Company Is Trustworthy

There are many household and commercial movers in the United States and they all try to lure you with extremely cheap prices, promising high quality services. But not all of them are honest and you can be deceived if you do not know how to choose a competent mover. We want to present you the main factors to consider when looking for reliable moving companies. Check the following guide!

– Experience. For a new company it is hard to pretend that they offer high quality services at lowest price. They do not have the experience and tools to do an effective operation in minimum of time, thus consuming less fuel and working hours that must be paid to the employees by the company. On the opposite, if you find a company that has many years of experience, it likely that they have developed strategies and effective planning and human resource management. Always go with a well-established mover.

– Tools. Again, a high quality company has an arsenal consisting of modern tools and vehicles. They usually talk about these tools on their website, sometimes even presenting them in a photo gallery. Reliable companies like to advertise their brand on their moving vehicles. If you find a company that tells you that it offers the lowest price, but it does not mention a word about their equipment, chances are that it does not have a modern one or it has a few tools. It would be wise to ask about equipment before signing any paper.

– Public Image. Reputable movers want to have a clean public image and they want to make them known through various marketing campaigns. You will know that a company is good if you hear about of them more often than other companies. Usually they can offer cheap prices because they want to be ahead their competitors by providing promotional prices while they promote their image through marketing campaigns.

– Feedbacks. Positive feedbacks are also a good sign for quality results. If you find a company that has affordable prices and has good ratings and testimonials, you should check them closer. Nowadays it is easier than ever to check for ratings and general customer satisfaction. Besides checking the complaint ratio, you can access several websites and see what current and former customers have to say about the company. Naturally, a mover with numerous positive reviews should be your top priority.

The 3 Biggest Names This World Cup

Are you totally ignorant about football? Know nothing about the beautiful game? With the 2010 Fifa World Cup just round the corner, here you 3 of the biggest names on show. Learn them and not be left out of the conversation.

1) Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi is the 2009 European and World Footballer of the Year and one of the most skillful footballers in the world. Only 22, his dribbling skills have earned him comparisons with the great Diego Maradona. Messi has just completed a fantastic season for Barcelona, helping them retain the league title. Many fans feel that it’s a matter of time before Messi is elevated to the true greats of football, joining the likes of Pele and Maradona. However, in order to reach such heights, Messi must first win the World Cup. Will he be able to do so in South Africa this June? Messi has never been able to replicate his form for Argentina but is well poised to do so in the grandest stage of all.

2) Cristiano Ronaldo

Love him or hate him, Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most well known footballers today. Ronaldo shot to fame with his transfer to Manchester United in 2003 and won the coveted Champions League with the Red Devils in 2008. A dazzling dribber, Ronaldo is also an accomplished scorer and header of the ball. The 2009 World Player of the Year, Ronaldo moved to Real Madrid in 2009 for a world record 80 million pounds and narrowly missed out on the league title with his new club. The biggest star in a skill Portuguese team, Ronaldo is already assured of his place as one of the greatest footballers of all time.

3) Wayne Rooney

Wayne Rooney, only 24, is England’s biggest star. His rise has been meteoric, becoming the youngest player to score in the Premier League in 2002, breaking Arsenal’s then unbeaten spell. His subsequent transfer from Everton to Manchester United has seen him pick up numerous accolades such as the 2010 Players’ Player of the Year. Known for this aggressive running and never say die attitude, Rooney has had his best season so far and is so important to England that then manager Sven Goran Eriksson took him to the 2006 World Cup even though he wasn’t fully fit. Having tarnished his last World Cup appearance by getting sent off against Portugal for a stamp on Ricardo Carvalho, Rooney has improved his temperament and is in good form for the World Cup.

The Most Surprising Soccer Transfer of the Season

Twice a year when the transfer window opens, the soccer world goes crazy with players changing clubs and newspapers and soccer websites all over the world speculating on the latest superstars playing the game of musical chairs.

While some big name transfers such as Cristiano Ronaldo’s move from Manchester United to Real Madrid finally came to their expected conclusions, one transfer caught my eye this season. That of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s move from Italian champions Inter Milan to Spanish and Champions League winners Barcelona, with Samuel Eto’o going the opposite direction.

Now, Ibrahimovic is not a bad player and on his day can be one of the best players on the planet. But he has failed to live up to his massive hype in my opinion. Who can forget the 2 Champions League matches against Manchester United last season where he was virtually anonymous?

Samuel Eto’o on the other hand has proven himself to be one of the most lethal strikers in the world. Only 28, he has his best years ahead of him and unlike Ibrahimovic, doesn’t choke on the big stage. Don’t forget, it was his goal in last season’s Champions League final that started Barcelona on the road to victory.

On top of the player exchange, Inter Milan also received a transfer fee of 45 million Euros. I have no idea how it was done, but Inter manager Jose Mourinho must surely have negotiated the best deal of the season. Or does Barcelona know something that we don’t? Only time will tell.
