A Qualty Autoresponder Software Is The Difference Between Success And Failure With Email Marketing

Why Do You Need Autoresponder Software?

Autoresponder software is the number one tool that all internet marketers should have in their arsenal, if they are serious about making real money online. This should include you too! It’s simply not possible for you to contact your subscriber list manually and this is why you will need to use autoresponder software.

To help with the email marketing side of your business, you will need to have a quality autoresponder in place. There are lots of email marketing tips I can offer you, but these will only work if you have your autoresponder software in place.

It has been shown through years of research that potential customers need to be exposed to your offer at least seven times, before they will purchase from you. What better way of creating this exposure in a gentle, non- sales like way than by emailing them on a regular basis.

Once somebody has filled in their contact details on your subscriber page, they will automatically receive your pre-written follow up email marketing messages at the times you have scheduled. Once set up, this truly is an automated way of gaining exposure to the products or services you are promoting. What could be easier!

Which Is The Best Autoresponder Software?

It’s now time for you to look at which product meets your requirements by looking at the features that they have to offer. Now don’t get me wrong, there are lots of free products out there.

However, if you truly want to be successful, I have found that none of these provide the features that you and I require in our list building efforts.

Sometimes we can use free solutions in our internet marketing business, such as WordPress, which is the best blog software available, whereas at other times we may need to invest in our success.

I have found by my research, as well as using them myself, that there are only two real contenders. We would only recommend a program that has a hosted solution, due to the ease of set up and the fact that you will need no technical knowledge.

I love easy solutions to problems, where my work load is reduced, and so should you! The two solutions below fulfill this criteria, so let’s take a look at them.

AWeber is the only autoresponder software that I currently use. Their customer service is second to none, with live chat and a free phone number. You are able to set up as many messages as you want, follow up campaigns and broadcasts to your subscribers.

The step by step tutorials are excellent, and you will be led by the hand to set up all of your email campaigns. In my opinion AWeber is the quickest autoresponder software currently available and the interface is childs play.

AWeber are currently offering a $1 trial, and there is a 30 day money back guarantee. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I have used Get Response in the past, but as mentioned, I prefer the AWeber service. Saying that Get Response is still an excellent service and it comes down to personal preference. They do offer a free service, which is good if you are on a tight budget, but it does have its limitations.

You could always start with the free service and upgrade when you see your business grow.

Which Autoresponder Software Do You Use?

Now I have provided you with my honest opinion on the two best solutions. I would suggest that you seriously look at them both and carry out your own research. This way you can form your own opinion on which service suits your own requirements the best.

What’s on Your Business Card?

A professional business card says more about you and your business than any other tool in your marketing arsenal. You need a card that looks good, tells what you do and makes it easy to contact you.

Here’s how to use the necessary ingredients to create a great card

Your name should be the biggest part of the card. Right there where the eye can pick it out without searching.

Avoid the old trap of name and phone number in 6 point type in the lower right corner.

Your card’s purpose is to get people to remember YOU and contact YOU. So put YOU in the middle, big. A fancy company logo is not you. YOU are the most important element of your card.

The second most important element of your new business card should be your preferred method of communication. If you are a cell phone junkie, your cell phone number should be the biggest on the card. If eMail is your thing, your address should be prominent and near your name. No need to post every contact method. An option would be to add your company logo, albeit small, in the corner of your card.

Don’t use clip art to create your logo. No logo looks a lot better than one from page 23 of the clip art book. You can have logos professionally designed for less than $500 bucks.

Next, you need a one sentence version of your elevator speech. Condense your elevator speech to one sentence that will fit on your business card, under your name and contact info. Across the bottom is a good spot (An elevator speech is what you say to someone who asks «What do you do?» in an elevator going down from the 25th floor).

Your name, contact information and shortened elevator speech (let’s call it a selling sentence) are more important than any other elements of your business card. More important than paper stock (always use a high gloss card stock), colors (0nly in a photo or logo) or fonts (easy to read). Cards DO get passed around.

If someone who has never met you is given your card, they must be able to determine who you are and how you can help them. «Joe Jones, Plumber» might work, but it doesn’t convey what you can do for them. «Joe Jones, I show up on time, smell good and fix your leak, guaranteed», says a whole lot more. Now your business card is selling YOU.

Real Estate Sign – A Simple Yard Sign Or A Powerful Marketing Tool?

Yard signs are the most obvious, yet underutilized selling tool in the Realtor’s arsenal. If you are one of those Realtors, who is still married to the gatekeeper business model in which all information about the home should be closely held, you may be missing real opportunities to expand your business. It begins with the ordinary real estate yard sign.

The real estate signs For Sale is your chance to show neighbors, seller’s relatives, buyers and other sellers how you can really pull out the stops to market a home. By festooning the sign with sign riders, feature sheet holders, and email addresses, you make the sign come alive with enthusiasm and energy. Anyone who looks at such a busy sign will see a busy agent who is determined to sell this particular home.

Think about the curiosity factor. Would not you be tempted to stop and look at a home that invites you to «Take One, Please?» By comparison, a sign with only a broker’s name and a phone number looks exactly like what it is – an advertisement for the broker, not the home.

The purpose of your sign is to stimulate activity around the home. By making people stop, look and think about this home, you are expanding your customer base. Curious neighbors and Sunday drivers could be your next clients.

A truly professional real estate agent uses colorful residential yard signs to increase traffic, communicate important information and make a stronger curbside impression. Lightweight curbside signs are very often used to list amenities and generate interest in my rental properties.

Make a great drive-up impression with a colorful yard sign and remember that realtors signs are the first point of contact you have.

Where to Buy a Machine Vise

Any wood working enthusiast will tell you the perfect addition to his set of tools is the machine vise. This is because these machines are versatile in what they can do, and allow you to press several pieces of wood together without worrying about clamping problems.

In fact, if you know someone in your family who is a miller, a milling machine vice could make a great gift, since a woodworker can never have enough vices for projects, which need to be completed. Any large project, which is undertaken, may require up to three different precision machine vises, depending on the size of what is being clamped and how long it needs to be held.

By purchasing a quality milling machine vise, you can be sure you are getting the right clamp you need for your project. Machine vises, which do not offer precision adjustments, are often bad for delicate work, as you could unknowingly cut into the wood while clamping it to ensure a seal. With precision vises, you will get the perfect clamp without cutting into the wood.

Because machine vises are such a popular item in any tool users’ arsenal, there are a wide variety of uses for them, not to mention the different styles, which are available. There are some types of vises, which can be applied freely in order to offer a firm clamp, and others, which attach to a table in order to ensure the perfect fit.

If you are not sure which type of machine vice you need, you should consider the benefits of both, and perhaps have both available in your tool arsenal. With free standing machine vises, you can complete your project and clamp it anywhere you wish. These are often best for larger projects.

With machine vices, that are large enough to be attached to a work bench or table, it is wise to have a smaller project, since the vise cannot be moved. Because they are anchored, these vises usually offer a superior grip, and can therefore clamp better than free standing varieties.

In addition to these types of machine vises, there are also large and small vices, depending on your needs. If you frequently work with wood, you should probably have several different sizes available at your disposal.

In addition, when shopping around for a machine vice, you will note that there are many manufacturers, which offer different pounds of pressure and precision control. Deciding how much compression power you need beforehand can help you pick the perfect vise.

Isolation: Another Weapon in the Abuser’s Arsenal

Very recently, I received an e-mail from the sister of an abuse victim. It seems the writer’s abusive brother-in-law has instigated hostilities between himself and his victim-wife and her family. At one point, he threatened to seek a restraining order against his wife’s parents, and they no longer have contact with her. As a result of this craziness, the victim’s family is strongly considering relinquishing the poor woman to her chosen fate based on their belief that she is either apathetic or condones the abuser’s behaviors.

The victim’s sister contacted me in an effort to better understand why her sister would accept these happenings. She provided some background and then posed these questions to me:

«When you were in your abusive relationship – were you cruel also? This has been going on for two years. I’m starting not to care about her – she’s a faint memory and the pain they have both caused – well her own parents are shut down and done. If you shut off family – did they take you back?»

The situation she and her parents are facing is all too familiar. Isolation is one of many powerful weapons in the abuser’s arsenal. The questions are good ones that call me back to darker days. For abusers will almost always incrementally work to separate their victims from many, if not most, means of emotional support – friends, acquaintances, co-workers, and particularly family members.

Isolation gives the abuser control over his victim’s comings and goings. His needs and desires take priority, while his victim becomes his trembling lapdog. She becomes ever more dependent upon him for the smallest measure of attention, approval and sustenance. The victim becomes wholly preoccupied with what she must do to gain his favor on a moment-by-moment basis to avoid inconveniencing him, to avert his wrath.

If that means she must prove her loyalty by disowning her family, she will. She cannot afford to risk giving him anything less than everything he asks, no matter how her heart breaks. She has already been taught to doubt her own emotions and convictions, and because of the intensity of his convictions, she chooses to believe that his contorted version of truth must somehow be true.

What the victim doesn’t realize is that she has been set up. The abuser is terrified of the possibility of losing control. Because family members could expose him and empower her if they catch wind of his maltreatment, estrangement between victim and potential rescuers is critical. To that end, he must create a scenario that allows him to secure her absolute loyalty while alienating her from those who could pose a threat to his fiefdom.

Over time, the abuser lays the groundwork of getting his victim to doubt her own judgment while convincing her that he is actually her protector, that she owes him her allegiance, and that her family cannot be trusted. Then, he will exploit any scenario that pits him against her relatives, sets himself up as the innocent party, and forces her to choose.

I know. I’ve been there.

Upon reading the writer’s heart-wrenching e-mail, I was burdened by the full weight of her question: «… were you ever cruel?» And in that moment I buried my face in my hand and broke into tears. The simplest answer: Yes, I was.

Although I wasn’t deliberately hostile, many years ago I did the exact same thing the writer’s sister has done. I stood by my abuser out of a sense of obligation and what I hoped would be perceived as confirmation of my loyalty – and turned my back on my family.

My history provides a spot-on example of the abuser’s successful use of isolation as a means of maintaining his domination. My husband had begun to drop offensive remarks about my family – my parents and sisters and their families who had been there for us, people with whom we had enjoyed barbecues and birthdays and Christmases. He began to insist that my family members were nothing more than a bunch of sick, selfish back-biters who hated and used us. He sowed the seeds of discontent for years, and following a major family fight that he initiated, he told me we bluntly that we would no longer have anything to do with them.

Most of my family members live in very close proximity to us, and our kids were close to their grandparents and cousins. Nevertheless, believing I was honoring my marriage vows and his demands for submission, I honored his demands and grieved in painful silence.

Occasionally I petitioned him to consent to meet with a counselor so that we could work out our differences, but he would have nothing of it. It would be a waste of time because he already knew he was in the right. He forbade me and the kids from seeing anyone on my side of the family. I was not allowed to mention their names.

My sisters tried to maintain contact with me, and I would speak to them in business-like terms and tell them I couldn’t see or talk to them. A couple of years later, I convinced my husband to go to counseling with me regarding the situation in the context of our children’s family relationships. In counseling, I agreed not to see my family if he would only allow the kids to have a relationship with their grandparents and cousins. Although it would have been preferable if the counselor had probed deeper into the problems that plagued our relationship, at least she supported my request in light of the children’s desires. She urged him to allow limited contact, and he finally agreed. My family was very happy to receive our kids back into their loving circle.

Later still, my mother initiated counseling with my husband. He went out of obligation but received none of her efforts to reach an agreement or reconcile and their session ended with him storming out of the counselor’s office. I honestly don’t remember how long it was before I was allowed to spend any time with my family again.

When I finally left my abuser, my step-dad and mother took my kids and me in. I began to share some of the dreadful secrets I had carried during my marriage, and they asked me later why I stood by him all those years. The truth was that I felt I had no other choice. Under the directives of the church and in an effort to go to every length to save my marriage, I did what I thought I was supposed to do. But, I know now that it was crazy. It was sick. It was wrong.

Abusers know how to keep us walking on eggshells, living in subservience, swirling around them in their narcissistic universe. They know how to indoctrinate us in the art of unbalanced, ungodly submission. As victims, we attempt to survive based on the premise that a predator is less likely to eat prey that lies still…

I know now that isolation holds us captive and dependent and leads to a slow and lonely emotional death. Abusers know this. They don’t care.

Surely, if I could undo my many foolish decisions I would. But, I can’t. What I can do is move beyond my failures and into what God really has and wants for me. Any measure of regret I carry has been eclipsed by the joy of knowing that, with God’s help, I broke free, saw the truth, and am now in a position to help others to identify the abuser’s tactics and then encourage them to follow my example – by getting out and discovering that this life was never meant to be lived in isolation.

«Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits; who pardons all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases; who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion; who satisfies your years with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle.» Psalm 103:2-5

Amen and Amen.

The Geography of Derby

Derby City is in the south east corner of the county of Derbyshire, in Trent valley. Along with Nottingham and Leicester it makes up the sub-region of the East Midlands, Derby is the smallest of these three cities. The world map reference for the city is latitude 52o55′ north and longitude 1o28′ west. The River Derwent is the main river running through it and is one of the few geographical features for this city, which is, by and large, flat and featureless. The average elevation in the city centre is around 50 metres. To the extreme east of the city, at Spondon and the extreme west of the city, at Mickleover, the elevation does rise to just over 100 metres.

The first known settlement in Derby was made by the Romans, in the district now known as Darley Dale, who built a fort overlooking the River Derwent. This quickly expanded to include a civil settlement from which the town and then city developed. Derby was awarded city status during the celebrations to mark Queen Elizabeth II 25th anniversary of her accession to the throne in 1977. Up until 1997 Derby was the county town for Derbyshire. However, on becoming a unitary authority on April 1st 1997 the administrative centre for the county transferred to Matlock. Derby City occupies an area of about 7800 hectares and has a population density below 30 people per hectare, making it one of the country’s least crowded cities. Derby city is split into 17 electoral wards that return 56 local councillors. The city is represented in the House of Commons, at Parliament, by three constituency MPs.

Climatically, Derby has the typical temperate climate of England. Its average December temperature is just below 40C and it has an average high of 18oC in July. The main wind direction for Derby is south westerly, meaning that most of its weather systems arrive from the Atlantic. Rainfall in Derby is typical for the English midlands, averaging around 750 millimetres of rainfall a year, with an expectancy of there being some rain falling on 150 days in the year.

The surface Geology of Derby is deposits of mudstone and sandstone that are between 1 and 10 metres thick, underlying that are mainly Triassic mudstone bedrocks. To the east and north of the city these overly the Carboniferous coal measures that formed the South Yorkshire coalfields. Whilst to the north is the Derbyshire Dome of Upper Carboniferous Limestone, which marks the southern edge, or beginning, of the Pennine Way. This is also part of the Peak District which was the first National Park to be created in Britain in 1951. Walks along the River Dove, in Dovedale, are particularly popular with tourists. However, the Peak District has contributed to the economy of Derby in more ways than just tourism. It was a major area for sheep farming and the production of wool as well as being rich in minerals. The Peak District has some of the best and most diverse Geology in England. Here you can find: Limestone’s, Shale’s, Gritstones and Sandstones including the famous Millstone Grit. Now more or less completely worked out it was a major area for Lead ore mining and a form of Fluorspar called ‘Blue John’ that was much sought after for making jewellery. The quarrying of Limestone has been taking place in the Peak District since Roman times for building stones and the production of cement and mortar. This process continues today with over 7 million tonnes of Limestone being extracted annually, from the twelve active quarries inside the park.

Engineering is very important to the economy of the city. Apart from the Rolls Royce works the city has many railway engineering companies and the Toyota production plant nearby. Almost 35% of the population are employed in manufacturing of one kind or another, making it one of the cities in the UK where manufacturing employment is greater than public administration and health services. Derby is the beginning of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage site, which is acknowledged as being one of the places in which the British industrial revolution began in the 18th century. The combination of local wool supplies and water mills to power the new weaving looms made Derby one of the model systems for, what were then, modern factories.

The average house price in Derby city is £145, 000, with prices rising (on average) from £110,000 for a terraced house to £235,000 for a detached property. The average price for a flat in Derby is £120,000. Generally, during the period 2006-2007, house prices in Derby City rose by 10%. Compared to most of the rest of Derbyshire, house prices in the city are lower than all areas other than Spondon, to the east and Bolsover to the north east of the county. The areas of Mickleover, to the west of the city and Darley Dale to the north, are the most sought after residential areas

How to Predict the Outcome of a Soccer Match

There are some people who are very good at predicting the outcome of sporting events. Professional gamblers can do it and can make a good living from it. Team managers to some extent need to do this in order to plan a team’s season, knowing which games to focus on and which ones to leave more to hope. Some sports journalists also have the knack of getting it right more often than not. To some it may seem like guess work or going on gut feeling but there is a science to sport and if you know what factors are important you too can be successful at predicting match results.

League position

The first and most obvious thing to look at when deciding who’s most likely to win a game is the relative position of the teams in the league table. If there are a number of places separating the two teams then the higher team is most often going to win and if the teams are close together then a draw is the probable result. You can do this by rule of thumb or it is possible to be more methodical by going back through the records and quantifying just how much of an advantage the league position is. Over the last five years in the English Premier League for example, when the two teams are within 6 places a draw is on average the most likely result. Different leagues will vary depending on how competitive they are and it will also vary at different points in the season. League position is less effective a predictor at the start of the season when there aren’t enough results to make a reliable prediction; and also at the end of the season when teams (particularly the more successful ones) are tired!

Home or away

The next most important factor to consider is whether a team is playing at home or away. In some leagues away victories are relatively rare. The main reason for this is the influence of the crowd. For teams that have a long way to travel and few supporting fans the opposition stadium can be a hostile environment. Also (although of course it shouldn’t happen) the crowd can have an influence on the referee. Refereeing is full of marginal decisions, and the presence of a large crowd of jeering supporters can effect the referee’s judgement. This effect of ‘home bias’ by referees has been scientifically tested by analyzing match videos, and has been shown to be a genuine phenomena – not just a frustration in the minds of the disappointed away fans! Because of this home advantage teams will often have two configurations: one for home and one for away. Away teams will often be more cautious and play a defensive mid-fielder in place of one of the strikers, making an away victory even less likely. It’s easy to quantify the home advantage in a league by adding up all the home wins over a season and comparing it with the number of away wins. The ratio is typically around 2 to 1 in favor of the home team.

Who’s playing?

A key decider is the team announcement. When the line up of the teams is announced, usually twenty minutes before kick-off, this gives a big indication of how the game will go. The team sheet will tell you two things: firstly whether the manager is playing his best team (e.g. are there players out through injury? Or is he saving players for a more important match?). Secondly it will tell you the likely formations. If a team has no recognized striker then they are probably going to be playing a more defensive formation. However, if there are a number of strikers on the substitutes’ bench then it is likely the coach will be putting them on the pitch at a later stage in the game and thus is not settling for a draw. Also look out for players just coming back from injury. Such a player may have a good first game but performances may then dip as fitness becomes an issue. Typically it takes 5 games for a player to get back to full match fitness.

Who’s on a roll?

As with many sports, confidence is a huge factor. Teams can get into cycles where bad results leads to bad confidence which in turn leads to worse performances. The same is true when a team’s confidence spirals upwards. It is for this reason that teams tend to go through good and bad patches. When a team is on a winning streak there is a strong likelihood they will continue winning, even against better teams. Look out for runs in a team’s recent matches: e.g. how many games have they gone without a victory? Although they won’t often admit it players are acutely aware of these statistics and it does play on their minds. Other runs to look out for are:

  • Games without scoring a goal
  • Number of clean sheets (no goals against)
  • Consecutive away wins
  • Number of games unbeaten
  • Number of games played

This last point is an important one. Tiredness is an important factor in determining a team’s chances of winning. A player should normally be able to play 2 games a week but this is hard to sustain over a number of months, especially if there is a lot of traveling and the games are very competitive. A team that has not played for 7 days has a significant advantage over one which has played in the last 3 or 4 days.

Derbies and rivalries

Some matches have a special significance for supporters and players alike. Derby games, where the two teams are local to each other, can throw up unexpected results. Part of the reason for this is that the away supporters don’t have far to travel and so can be in the stadium in equal numbers to the home fans. This can create an unusually vibrant atmosphere which can make players more nervous and accident prone. The intense rivalry between such teams can produce special performances from some teams. This all makes it hard to predict the outcome of such games. There can be other team rivalries that one should also be aware of: for instance teams that have a history of victories over one another in important competitions; and teams that have an equal number of trophies.

The Case Against Using An Autoresponder

I've had to put on my best armor today.

Why? Because I'm no doubt gonna get one hell of a backlash from certain people. After all, email marketers are supposed to love autoresponders.

Aren't they?

Well, hold your horses. Because I'm here to tell you why you should be sending daily emails (as daily broadcasts) as opposed to relying on an autoresponder sequence.

Ready? Let's get straight into it …

1) You can't be "current" with an autoresponder

One of the best things about daily email, is that you get to talk about current events.

And when you talk to your prospects about current things that are happening in the world, they're gonna pay attention.

Want an example? Okay then. When Leicester won the Premier League, it gave me something current to talk about. And it turned out to be one of the most profitable emails I've written. I reckon this was just because people could relate to it, as it had only just happened.

TV series' and films also make for great email fodder. Again, clearly you have to be current when talking about these.

But if you relied on an autoresponder, you couldn't exactly be "current", could you …

2) You risk "losing" a lot of people because of one email

Look, even I write a poor email once in a while (I know, shock horror, right ?!).

But that doesn't matter. Because I can just make sales the next day with a better email. And that poor email would then be consigned to history.

But if that same email was in an autoresponder sequence, every single person who joined my list in the future would also receive it. Yes, I know you could take it out or change it. But that's making things harder than they need to be. Sending daily emails is just so less complicated.

3) Autoresponders don't tend to "pitch" in every single email

Look, I know you can easily make an autoresponder with a sales pitch in every email.

But the fact of the matter is, most autoresponders don't. Instead, they tend to tell a story that is told over the course of numerous emails, before then pitching a product / service.

Now, listen.

I'm sure this works.

There are certainly guys who do successfully use autoresponders. Andre Chaperon and John McIntyre spring to mind.

But I believe Ben Settle is the best email marketer in the world. And he does daily email. And, yes, he pitches every single day – without having to take anyone through a long-winded story sequence. Clearly, you're gonna make money faster doing it Ben's way. And I like fast. I'm sure you do, too.

Anyway, I'm not saying autoresponders are the devil.

Far from it.

In fact, they do have some advantages over daily broadcasts.

But you know what? For me personally, nothing has come even close to beating daily email when it comes to making sales.

And trust me, if you do it right, it'll be the same for you, too.

NFL Football Free Picks: Carolina Panthers At Chicago Bears

Defense wins championships. You’ve all heard of this cliché. But, this will be the determining factor in today’s matchup against the Panthers of Carolina against Da Bears of Chicago. Both teams are strong defensively and both teams are poor offensively.

In their earlier matchup this past November, the Bears came away with a 13-3 victory at Soldier field; I fully expect them to finish off the inconsistent Carolina Panthers this Sunday. The Bears will still be at Soldier field.

The Bears defense is allowing a paltry 12.6 ppg and an alarming 7.6 ppg at home! Bears games this year have been going under (o/u 4-10-2) mainly due to this fact. Although I see this game going over the projected total this Sunday, I still see Carolina not getting more than 14 points in this matchup.

If the Bears score early, they will score often. Teams coming off underdog wins in playoffs have a pretty nasty ATS record their next game; not to mention the fact that the Panthers shutout their opponent in their last game…this game has rout written all over it. The Bears should make the trip out West next Sunday to play the Seattle Seahawks.

Today’s free picks include the Bears giving up less than a field goal today.
