Why Do You Need an Eye Test?

The most common of eye tests are those wherein the eye doctor asks you to read letters from a chart. The letters on the chart gets smaller on each line. This type of test is considered basic especially in trying to determine if the eyes have normal vision or not and to determine if there are problems with the eyesight.

Undergoing a test is important for many reasons. Here are the reasons as to why we need to have eye tests:

1. Regular eye tests are necessary in order to avoid unnecessary damage to the eyes caused by undiagnosed conditions. It is very common that eye diseases and vision problems are developed without us knowing them. Learning about it early on can prevent further damages.

2. Early diagnosis of eye health conditions or problems is important especially in young children. Being able to detect problems early can prevent development and learning problems. Children who are seen to have sight problems can often be treated.

3. Young children between the ages of 1 to 5 also need eye tests to look for common toddler eye problems such as crossed eyes, turned-out eyes, or lazy eyes.

4. People who have occupations which affect and use the eyes many hours of the day should also have regular tests. These occupations include drivers and those who strain their eyes for hours during work. Regular tests can help diagnose problems early and promptly apply the needed medical care, if possible.

5. Regular eye exams are also needed by those who wear glasses or contact lenses. Eye examinations can determine whether there is a need to adjust the vision grade of eyeglasses or contact lenses.

6. People who have a family medical history of eye disease or a type of chronic disease such as diabetes, then a regular vision test can also help monitor vision as well as watch out for more serious vision problems.

7. Eye Exams are also needed to be administered once every two or four years to those who are between the age of 40 to 65. Adults in their middle to senior age has a higher risk for eye diseases and vision problems.

The above-mentioned reasons validate the need for early and regular eye check ups. While some vision tests can be expensive, there are those which offer free eye tests. If you live in UK, check to see if you are qualified for free eye medical tests.

How to Achieve Six Packs With Ab Exercises and a Personalized Diet

Ask any of the guys walking along the road if they wished to have a six pack and most of them would say yes. Why are there even ladies out there who are working to get ripped abdominal for themselves? Some people have the idea that all you need for a six pack is to do an ab fitness exercise thrice each week. Although it may be a solution to some, for others it may not be sufficient.

The fact is, in order to be successful in attaining your visible six pack, you need to work on reducing your body fat. Or else any muscles gained from your routines will be covered by a stubborn layer of fat. One way you can reduce the body fat is to ensure proper food intake along with a proper fitness workout routine.

Types of Workouts

In order to get the results you want, you do not need fancy machines or strenuous ab exercise routines. All you need to learn to do is sit ups, oblique crunches and leg raises. To further maximize your workouts, you may combine the routines as described above to form a great ab workout and exercise. The trick for this is to continue with your routine until you can feel the burn, after which you will have to repeat each sessions two or three times every week.

It is advisable to work your abs on alternate days as your body need some time to recover from your extensive routines. Once you stick with this, you will soon have a strong midsection. Remember to alternate between the routines in order to continuously challenge your body for better results. Add this to your healthy eating habits and you will surely be able to see your six packs developing well.

Create your Personal Fitness Diet

An important factor in maintaining a balance with your routines is to increase your daily intake of vegetables, fruits, lean meats and plenty of water. You should try to minimize your intake of fattening and sodium filled foods and other processed food. Instead of grabbing that can of soda, switch to plain water or healthier choices like tea or fruit juice. Try to understand what your body is telling you and eat the food you feel well shortly after. Stop eating junk food and food that makes you feel poorly. Once you are more conscious about your eating habits, achieving your six packs is just a few steps away.

Cardio Routines

In special cases, eating healthily and practicing regular ab exercise fitness routines may not be sufficient. For people with too much body fat, it might be crucial for them to include a session of cardio in order to burn the extra fat away around their midsection. Cardio workouts include squats, jumps, mountain climbers or even jumping jacks. Repeat these for 1 minute to boost and add intensity to your routines.

However, remember that there is no way to spot and reduce. This means that you will burn fats all over your body and not just targeting your midsection. With patience and perseverance, you will ultimately see that fat melting away. Include some sessions of biking, running, or even walking to increase your metabolism. This helps to further burn the extra fat and it helps to tone your body to develop the body you have always wanted. Intake of fat burners should be discussed with your doctor.

FC Barcelona – The Cruyff Years

Johan Cruyff is a legendary football player known the world over for his aggressive and intelligent style of play. Though he had success in his earlier years, it is when he joined FC Barcelona in 1973 that his star really began to shine.

Cruyff began his career in his home country of the Netherlands playing for AFC Ajax. There he led the team to many victories and memorable performances, but was eventually sold to FC Barcelona for a hefty sum. Cruyff wasted no time winning over the Barcelona fans, stating to the press that he chose Barcelona over their rivals Real Madrid because he didn’t want to play for a team associated with former Spanish dictator Francisco Franco. He even named his son Jordi, a traditional Catalan (the region of Spain in which Barcelona is found) name.

Cruyff’s years playing for FC Barcelona were truly memorable and made him an icon. In his first year with the team, he helped them win La Liga for the first time in fourteen years (beating Real Madrid on their own turf along the way) and was also named European Footballer of the Year. It was during this time that he also scored one of his most memorable goals, called «The Phantom Goal» or «Le but d’imposible de Cruyff» (The Impossible Goal of Cruyff). In a match against Atlético Madrid, the football was already past the far goal post and was at about neck height when Cruyff leapt into the air, twisting so that he was facing away from the goal and kicked the ball into the goal with his right heel. This move among others propelled him to godlike status in the eyes of football fans.

Cruyff then spent many years away from FC Barcelona as a player and manager, until finally returning to the club as manager in 1988. When he returned to Barcelona, Cruyff brought with him the so-called «Dream Team». This elite squad was composed of Spaniards Jon Andoni Goikoetxea, Jose Mari Bakero, Josep Guardiola, Txiki Beguiristain, along with international stars Romanian Gheorghe Hagi, Bulgarian Hristo Stoichkov, Dane Michael Laudrup, Brazilian Romario, and Dutchman Ronald Koeman.

Under Cruyff’s direction, the Dream Team went on to win four consecutive La Liga titles from 1991 to 1994. They won the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in 1989 and the European Cup in 1992 at Wembley Stadium with a famous free kick goal courtesy of Ronald Koeman. In 1990, the Dream Team won a Copa del Rey, the European Super Cup in ’92, and three Supercopa de Espana.

Cruyff remains FC Barcelona’s most successful manager to date, with eleven trophies to his name. He also has the distinction of being the club’s longest serving manager. He continues to be an advisor for FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta, whom he openly endorsed during the elections. To this day, he is still revered by FC Barcelona fans, who call him «El Salvador» (The Saviour) for his successful run as both player and coach at the club.

Matched Betting – Learn How To Make Money From Matched Betting Online For Bookmakers Bonuses

Matched betting is a term which is increasingly being heard these days. It is even being referred to as ‘intelligent betting’ in betting circles. The entire concept of matched betting involves placing a bet both as a punter and also laying a bet as a bookmaker. This has become possible thanks to the advent of the numerous betting exchanges these days. If properly used, matched betting is known to eliminate the element of luck to quite some extent and can get no-risk returns.

The entire concept of matched betting works like this. You place a bet at bookies and back your chosen outcome at particular odds. For example, you could be backing Chelsea to beat Man United in a soccer match. If Chelsea were to win, you would win back your stake and if you lose, you lose your stake to the bookie. What if at the same time, you were to lay a bet, simultaneously as a bookmaker and offered the same odds to someone for Chelsea beating Man United?

This is what matched betting is all about. It works on the principle that whatever you win or loose is always cancelled out by whatever you win or lose, both as a punter and as a bookmaker. Although all this sounds good you should always keep in mind certain things when dealing with matched betting. For one you will need to use betting exchanges, which never offer lay odds which are the same as those offered by bookmakers. The second thing that you should remember is that you will also need to shell out a significant commission to the betting exchange. You need to be clear on all these aspects of matched betting before you place, as well as lay a bet on a particular outcome.

Time to Do It – Now!

There can be many frustrations in business and more especially in management.

Lots of us, in these roles, get irritated by the smallest things – often these things seem to be about others and, in truth, are just about ourselves.

Getting honest about this is one of the biggest challenges we have.

Sometimes, it’s vital to cast all our doubts and fears to one side and get on with it.

The more polite shortening of this is ‘JDI’ – otherwise known as ‘Just Do It’.

In this little article, we’ll explore more about JDI and how this weekend, it made a magnificent difference to a small town on the Scottish/English borders.

Manager Rowan Alexander says he never wants to leave Gretna.

In four years, this little Scottish football team have moved from the incredibly unknown non-professional league called the Unibond League, to the Scottish First Division (next season) and as of this weekend, their 3-0 win over Dundee led them to the Scottish Cup Final.

Never before has a team from the Scottish Second Division got there. And they are not expecting to stop progressing till they achieve Premier League status, hopefully sometime in 2007.

Already, due to their win and that of Hearts in the second semi-final on Sunday, Gretna are assured of European football next season (as long as Hearts stay 2nd in the Scottish Premier League!)

When asked how they had achieved this, Alexander, manager since those heady days back in the Unibond, says,

«We don’t talk about things here, we do it. Nothing negative, everything is positive.»

If ever there was a time when a state of expectations, meeting with application and wonderfully supportive, encouraging and developmental management came to fruition, then surely Gretna is it.

Sometimes the seemingly ‘unachievable’ is so very achievable. We just get in our own way, prevaricating with reason after reason why we shouldn’t, can’t or mustn’t.

We fear possible outcomes which might not achieve our goals – blindly forgetting that if we don’t try, we are certain of failure.

I once worked with a client who told me that he prevaricated because at least if he didn’t try, he wouldn’t fail and the hope and dream he had would still be there.

It had taken years of practice to reach this state of inertia – it took but a few coaching sessions to encourage him that using a JDI approach would not be life-threatening.

This week you have the opportunity to move on those things you have been putting off, for whatever reason.

Let’s call it an amnesty.

Give yourself permission for slipping out of your comfort zone and into action. It might not be as chilling an experience as you may think.

Lionel Messi V Cristiano Ronaldo – Who Is the Greatest?

Last night saw yet another epic El Classico where Lionel Messi and Cristano Ronaldo continued their ongoing battle for World supremacy. Barcelona and Real Madrid played out a spectacular 2-2 draw with Ronaldo and his arch nemesis Messi scoring all of the goals. These two players are taking the art of a footballer to whole new levels, but whilst there is no denying that they are the stand-out talents of their generation, and perhaps of all-time, the ongoing question is' who of the two is the greatest? ' Whilst there is no definitive correct answer to this, the widely held view over recent years has been that Messi is the King and Ronaldo the very talented Prince. However, the gap between the magical Argentinean and the Portuguese adonis appears to be closing, with some feeling that Ronaldo now deserves the crown of 'World's Best Player'.

Despite often playing just behind the main striker, Messi seems to be able to score from anywhere and everywhere. Last season, at the age of only 24, he became Barcelona's all-time leading scorer. In addition to that he also broke the 39 year old record which was set my German super striker Gerd Muller for most goals in a single European season. Amazingly, Ronaldo has managed a similar record to Messi and their overall 'goals to games' ratio since 2009 is almost identical. Despite starting his career as a winger, Ronaldo's 'eye for goal' became apparent under Alex Ferguson at Manchester United. His trademark 'dipping' free-kicks and solo goals prompted Real Madrid to break the World transfer record to bring the Old Trafford hero to the Bernabeu. Just as Messi can often be found collecting the ball in his own half, Ronaldo often drifts back in search of possession, and is also found in wide positions tormenting the opposing left and right backs. Given the fact that neither player is what is referred to as a 'goal poacher' makes their records even more unbelievable.

With regard to awards, both team based and personal, Messi is the clear winner at present. He has won the Ballon d'Or three years running (much to the obvious dismay of Ronaldo!), And his La Liga and Champions League silverware outweigh Ronaldo's.

In conclusion it is evident that both Lionel Messi and Cristano Ronaldo are head and shoulders above any other current players in World football and there are no signs of this changing any time soon. Given their relatively young ages there is every possibility that they will go down as the two greatest players in the history of the sport. For all the achievements of Pele, Maradona, Eusebio etc, there is already a case to be made that Messi and Ronaldo have matched and surpassed them all. The fact that two such players are present in the same era, playing in the same league and at almost the same ages makes the comparison slightly easier, so here goes …

Lionel Messi is currently the 'World Greatest Footballer' with Cristano Ronaldo an extremely close second. The fact that Lionel Messi has been officially awarded this title three years running with the Ballon d'Or adds weight to the argument. That along with minor points such as his superior assists record, the fact that he has consistently made more appearances than Ronaldo and that his all-round team-play is slightly better just edges it for the Argentinean genius at present. In Ronaldo's defense he is the faster / stronger physical specimen, has better heading ability and does not have a Xavi or Iniesta to link up with, but this just doesn't quite level it – for now !!!
