Mastering The Art Of Spin Fishing For Trout

When most anglers hear the term «art» in relation to the term «fishing» they automatically assume that the style of fishing known as «fly fishing» must be the subject. In my mind this has never made sense, because more than twenty five years ago I had the pleasure of learning how to fish for trout from a man that many people considered an artist and this man was, wait for it, a spin fisherman. That’s right this «trout fishing master» was a spin fisherman or more to the point an ultralight spin fisherman.

The act of spin fishing for trout with ultralight gear has been my passion ever since I had the pleasure of learning from this man more that twenty years ago and in this article I will reveal some of the tips and tricks that he taught me and that I have learned through experience, so that you can add them to your trout fishing arsenal and begin your journey towards becoming an «artist» as well. The bottom line is that ultralight spin fishing, when taken seriosly, can be every bit the «art form» that fly fishing is considered to be.

The first factor to consider when you are spin fishing for trout is the size of the line that you use. If you want to catch trout consistently you need to be using very light fishing line. This means either two or four pound test. You can use monofilament or fluorocarbon line, but the bottom line is that it needs to be as light as possible. This is because trout have very keen eyesight and if the detect your fishing line under the water, they are much less apt to bite your offering.

Next, if you want to master the art of spin fishing for trout you need to spend as much time on the water as you can. Not only this, but while you are fishing for trout you need to be as mindful as possible, meaning that you need to focus on the task at hand. Make mental notes of what the trout are doing, what the weather is doing, what other anglers might be doing, what the trout are feeding on, what phase the moon is in, what time of day it is, etc. As you gather information, you can implement said information into the trip that you are on as well as fishing trips in the future.

As you do this, you will begin to notice little nuances in your technique which can be adjusted and/or accentuated, which will begin to make you a much better and more effective fisherman. Adding information, techniques, and strategies to your fishing arsenal will pay huge dividends in hook up rates and this all comes from the experience of having your line in the water fishing for trout. If you add these simple ideas to your personal trout fishing repertoire, you will be well on your way to becoming an artist yourself and mastering the art of spin fishing for trout.

Spring Heeled Jack A Vampire?

Spring Heeled Jack was a leaping, bounding superman with claimed recorded sightings as early as 1837 in Southwest London. He has been described as wearing a kind of helmet and a tight fitting white costume like an oilskin. It’s said he can breath blue and white flames and has hands like great claws. His hands are said to be «as cold of that as a corpse». Confirmed sightings of him occurred in 1838 by a young woman named Jane Alsop on a London backstreet and persisted for more than 60 years in the London area until around 1904.

Jack has been reported as being able to jump from cobblestones to rooftop and back with ease. In 1877 he was shot at with no apparent affect by angry townspeople. The description of Spring Heeled Jack rarely changed over the years until his last official recorded sighting. Other sights of Jack appeared in Liverpool, Sheffield, all over England to the Midlands and Scotland. There are recent recorded sightings of him as late at 1953 in Houston, Texas to 1986 on the Welch border.

With Jack clear in your mind, it’s time to slightly change the modern perception of what a vampire is and how it should look. The FVZA website gives us details about vampires that more resemble the being in the movie Nosferatu than recent modern interpretations. The FVZA, or Federal Vampire & Zombie Agency (1868-1975), was «responsible for controlling the nation’s vampire and zombie populations while overseeing research into the undead.» Officially created in 1838 by President Ulysses S. Grant it went undercover shortly after, but was eventually disbanded due to a controlled vampire and zombie population. They studied the virus that causes one to become a vampire and how it affects a human turning. What’s interesting is not only what is the same to our modern lore but also what’s different.

The FVZA informs us that vampires have pale yellow skin, eventually showing veins. Their ligaments and tendons thicken to support a stronger bone structure as well giving them extraordinary strength and quickness. Blood is also pumped through their skeletal system instead of their blood veins making their heart deteriorate from lack of use. They can handle trauma that may kill a normal human and their strength increases to about three times what the turned human’s strength originally was. Their DNA is also altered to fight off the the wear that usually affects human DNA giving them longer life expectancy.

So is Spring Heeled Jack a vampire?

He possesses some of the characteristics known to vampires. Increased strength can account for his ability to leap large fences and to the tops of buildings with no effort. His tight fitting costume may, in fact, be the skin discoloration of becoming a vampire. Some sightings at night would also account for some confusion if he was wearing some sort of suit or if the skin color was incorrectly mistaken for something worn over it. Jack’s resistance to being fired upon also supports the reworking of the vampire nervous system to survive and be unaffected by things conventionally deadly to humans. The cold touch of Jack’s hand is easily figured by the lower body temperature (60 degrees) of a vampire.

The stories of him breathing flames has no parallel to any known paranormal entity and sources never cite vampires as having that ability, however, if Jack was a vampire use of some tricks would not be unknown to him having been a human prior. He is not known to have killed, but it’s likely police forces during this time period may not have known what to make of a Spring Heeled Jack crime scene if they found one. The best examples of what a modern vampire killing would look like actually appear in the Jack the Ripper cases in London only a year or so after the last accepted sighting of him in London. Their sightings and accounts overlap in interesting areas while happening in the same location, if in seemingly different parts of town.

The modern vampire lore may need to be reworked as our understanding of DNA and viruses increases. With a more open-minded society the Spring Heeled Jack incidents may have been and open and shut case to his nature, though no one succeeded in capturing him.

Authenticity and Exceptional Performance: The Story of Rowland Hill

In 1830 the world’s first inter-city passenger railway started in England, operating between Liverpool and Manchester. It signaled the advance of the new technology that would power the industrial economies of the nineteenth century. However, achieving significant change takes time. Letters would continue to be carried by horse-drawn Mail Coaches for many years, and the fee was usually paid by the recipient. It was an expensive service, and people could refuse to receive the mail. It required an outsider, Rowland Hill, to achieve change.

Rowland Hill (1795-1879) was a teacher and social reformer. He took the initiative in addressing the shortcomings of the old postal system. He proposed a new approach, which required a prepaid adhesive stamp that could be fixed to the letter. His suggestions were initially rejected, but he published a pamphlet to promote his ideas. Today, it could be a social media campaign. In Post Office Reform: Its Importance and Practicability, Volume 1 (1837) Hill notes in the Preface: It should be remembered, that in few departments have important reforms been affected by those trained up in practical familiarity with their details. The men to detect blemishes and defects are among those who have not, by long familiarity, been made insensible to them.

The report called for low and uniform rates according to weight, rather than distance. Opposition to Hill’s ideas was deep-rooted. The Postmaster denounced Hill’s «wild and visionary schemes.» The Secretary to the Post Office, said «this plan appears to be a preposterous one, utterly unsupported by facts and resting entirely on assumption». Looking back, we can see that this reflected ‘FELT Thinking’ and the #FELTDeficit characterized by an inability to shift mindset.

Hill saw that reform would enable poorer people to exchange letters and this would help finance the system. The appendix to his proposal highlighted two significant points:

* That cheap communication by post would afford highly important facilities to the collection and diffusion of information, and thus greatly accelerate the education of the people.

* That the present rates of postage, so far from the forwarding these facilities, constitute a serious tax on literature, creating obstacles, or involving expenses, in almost every stage of the progress of a literary work.

Hill’s proposals made sense to people in business. There was authenticity and integrity in his approach, which shaped by shared value.

His achievement is worth noting because it demonstrates the importance of positive, proactive behavior. He totally changed the Rules of the Game relating to postal systems. His story also demonstrates that perseverance is required to change outdated ideas anchored in old assumptions. It requires more energy to do something new, and there will always be vested interests supporting the status quo. However, Hill recognized that by reducing cost, it would be possible to increase volume and profitability, and this would then transform the underlying business model. The first adhesive, Penny Black stamp was issued 1 May 1840. His contribution was recognized in 1860 when he was knighted and became Sir Rowland Hill.

Simple Theory for Soccer Betting

Why is soccer betting popular?

If we were to compare other sports with soccer, soccer has the highest occurrences for weak team to beat a strong team down especially in English Premier League. Let’s turn back the clock; can any of you recall the UEFA Championship final?? Clashed between Man.Utd and Bayern Munich in 1999 where Man.Utd successfully won Bayern Munich by 2 goals during 2 minutes injury time. For those who bet on Bayern Munich, how hard for punters to accept this, unfortunately this is the FACT. Well, as you can see, this is the most interesting part in soccer betting. There is a saying, «a football is round, therefore it might have unpredictable ending».

What is the simple theory in betting world?

Everything in the world is sharing the same natural concept and also follows the same trend. There is no exception for soccer betting. The theory is simple. When a graph makes an incline, of course the line will keep climbing and stop at a stage. No matter how high it reaches or how low it drops, there is always a stop to it. I would confidently say that only in minor cases, the graph will move up and down continuously within a short period of time. As example, you could notice that most market share will always have gradual incline and then follow by long dropping line repeatedly. You could also notice that the rich gets richer and poor gets poorer. In sports betting, I believe some of you did experience before winning streaks which you kept winning non-stop even though you simply put your bet. In contrast when encounter down period, even if you work hard to make analysis or follow the bet of your lucky friends but finally lose too. Why? The only answer is natural concept and trend. We must agree and follow the trend.

How betting trend works in soccer betting?

The rule of thumb is do not be stubborn to confidently place bets on teams that continuously lost and have the thinking that they would make a come back. This is totally wrong. Maybe you will win at the end by follow this type of betting strategy but how much capital you need to have and how much you need to lose before you can win the bet. Based on the trend concept, if a team is keep losing, the graph for them is dropping, we should bet against them until the graph reach a pit stop. In contrast, if a team turnover from lose to win, we should start chase the team to win until stop stage. How simple is it? Win keeps winning and lose keeps losing.

Which team to bet from among of uncountable matches?

When using the trend concept in soccer betting, it is safer if we use it to bet on strong team and only focus on climbing graph. Meanwhile, we put our bet only on strong team when they are in win stage. The reason to choose strong team is they need points to secure their position at the top of the league table. In addition, strong team with higher strength could easily win if victory is a must.

The last but not the least, I am sure you will have doubts on my simple theory – trend. I could tell you that my theory has been proven. I have been using the betting strategy for 2 consecutive years and it really works for me. From my bet statistics, it hits more than 75% accuracy.

Teemo Builds – The Popular League of Legends Champion

Captain Teemo on Duty!

Teemo is one of the most played champions in LoL. What makes him so popular? Here are some reasons why:

He’s Cute and Cuddly

When you look at him, he reminds you of a cute cuddly soft toy you would have when you go to bed.

He’s Deadly

A well-built Teemo can really own in LoL ranked games if built right. There are a couple of builds that you can use for him, depending on your opponents. I build him using 4 methods depending on the situation. They are:

  1. AP – Building him utilizing his ability power and on hit effects are the best way to go. Items that I recommend are Nashor’s Tooth, Sorcerer’s Shoes, Zhyona’s Hourglass, Frozen Mallet and Abyssal Scepter.
  2. AD – Going the attack damage route utilizes his attack speed. You will want to stack attack damage items. I would recommend Infinity Edge, Statik Shiv/Phantom Dancer, Runaan’s Hurricane and Bloodthirster. Maw of Malmortious works as well if you need some magic resist. This route will diminish the damage of your mushrooms though.
  3. Jungle – Teemo doesn’t get used as a jungler often, but if you do try it, start off with Wriggle’s Lantern, Berserker’s Greaves, Frozen Mallet and Atma’s Impaler. If you find yourself getting nuked down by burst AP champions, get Maw of Malmortious.
  4. Tank – Tank Teemo is surprisingly effective if you know how to kite well. Items that you want to get would be Frozen Mallet, Ninja Tabi, Sunfire Cape, Atma’s Impaler and Mercurial Scimatar.

Jessica Nigri Cosplay’s as Teemo

When you have Jessica Nigri doing Teemo’s cosplay, you know he is popular.

Teemo Fan-made Songs

There are actually some really huge Teemo fans making songs specifically for him. You can find them on YouTube if you type in «Captain Teemo Song» or «It’s Teemo and I Know it»

A Game Made After Him

There is game made for Teemo as part of an april fool’s joke. It is call Astro Teemo. So basically, you play him in space as you have to fly through obstacles and avoid Lux’s laser, Ashe’s frost arrow and fire walls. Getting hit by any of these means a dead Teemo.

Global Taunt

With popularity comes hate as well. Due to his ultimate Noxius Traps, where it slows everyone and damages them. The problem is that you cannot see them unless you get a true sight ward or Oracle’s elixir. That is why in public games, you so so much hate for him.

Labeling Yourself With "Binge Eating Disorder", "Compulsive Overeating Disorder" or "Food Addiction"

Nearly every self-help book or article I’ve read on binge eating disorder or food addiction has a section to help the reader decide if he or she really has binge eating disorder, compulsive overeating disorder or is a «food addict».

Often there’s a checklist with questions like, «Do you eat more than you intended more than 3 times per week?» Or «Do you hide how much you eat?»

These books or articles are often written by someone that has no personal experience with binge eating, or by people who believe in addictive disease. By asking questions like this, in their opinion, they’re setting you up to conclude you have a problem.

In my own opinion, I prefer to take an opposite angle: if you aren’t sure you have a problem with eating, you probably don’t. If you do have a problem or struggle with it, you’re aware of it.

I am not going to post information or spend time in my books or programs teaching you what binge eating, compulsive overeating or food addiction is. It’s different for everyone. If you feel you have a problem, you are well aware that you need to seek support for it. It would be arrogant of me to label you as someone that has a problem if you strongly believe you do not.

However, if you’re reading this and suspect you have an issue with overeating regularly, then you likely do have an issue to address.

I’m guessing your assumption is based on your experience with overeating food on a fairly regular basis, or often thinking that you know you’ll «cave in» and feel like you can’t stop eating.

You’re probably engaged in an internal debate about what to do: to eat less at certain times, to try to find a diet with food that you won’t want to overeat, to eat «safe» foods only in case you do overeat, etc. This conflict or indecision fits my definition of having an «issue» with food such that it’s not making you happy.

When learning about symptoms of binge eating disorder or compulsive overeating disorder, it can be easy to take on the label of «disorder» and see yourself as someone that’s afflicted with a «disorder.»

Why?

Because taking on the concept that you have a disorder and your binge eating is a symptom of it, a great responsibility can be lifted from your shoulders.

I remember thinking this when I was dealing with anorexia, and later bulimia, and then binge eating. I saw myself as someone with a disorder I would have to deal with for the rest of my life. It was this «thing» that was a part of me and required constant management.

Taking on this idea that I had a lifelong eating «disorder» that merely had changed forms, no longer did it seem like I was behaving stupidly and blindly. No longer did I feel an urgent need to quit binge eating, or to beat myself up for being weak. I was simply doing what people with eating disorders do.

While it’s certainly helpful to recognize if you have a problem with food, there’s a step that follows that will be what keeps you stuck or helps you overcome the issue: taking action. By seeing that there’s something that doesn’t make you happy, you now have a world of possibilities that can open up because you can choose to take new actions that WILL lead to you being happy.

You can work on developing your ability to recognize your conflicting thoughts around wanting to eat and wanting to feel in control. Those conflicting thoughts are the result of two parts of your brain in conflict… your «primal» animal brain and your «higher» logical brain.

When you can distinguish between the two parts and understand the motivations behind each, you quickly gain leverage on yourself and can overcome the behavior you are unhappy with.

Premier League Fixture Confusion

Apart from that, no one else has said anything which I find bizarre because, although Chelsea played on Monday and would be playing again on Thursday whilst United and Arsenal played on Sunday and would not play again till Saturday; Chelsea would actually have the weekend off and their champions league opponents, Liverpool would play on Saturday and then meet Chelsea on Tuesday.

I was just very surprised not to hear Liverpool moan about such a situation until it dawned on me that Rafa Benitez would most likely put out a completely different team against Fulham on Saturday to the 1 he would field against Chelsea.

By some strange coincidence, the same this happened last season where Rafa played a B-string team against the same opposition and that went a long way to confirming Fulham’s premiership status. This was because in the following week he had to play against the same opponents Chelsea at the same stage of the same competition, champions league.

The teams around Fulham would not be too happy if Fulham beat a weakened Liverpool side and for the life of me, I cannot see the rationale behind Everton and Chelsea game being brought forward to tomorrow.

We have a situation where greed has superseded fair play because this game would have repercussions against other teams not involved at all because let us face it, Chelsea stood little chance of winning the league anyway and their best chance of a trophy is winning the champions league while Everton stand little or no chance of coming 4th so it is just teams like Bolton, Reading, Birmingham, Wigan, Sunderland and possibly Newcastle that might be affected.
