Cristiano Ronaldo’s Girlfriend Gemma Atkinson Accused Of Cheating On The Manchester United Superstar

Cristiano Ronaldo’s sexy girlfriend Gemma Atkinson has been accused of being unfaithful to the Manchester United midfielder after being caught flirting with another man live on TV, much to the delight of women all around the world, desperate to fantasize about a hopefully-single Portuguese star.

Former Hollyoaks actress Gemma Atkinson was appearing on the reality TV show Soapstar Superstar when she was accused of flirting with Home And Away actor Mark Furze. Cristiano Ronaldo’s girlfriend Gemma Atkinson was seen to be touching and overly enjoying the company of the sexy actor Mark Furze. Mark is seen to be a bit of a hunk by adoring Australian fans, and he made his name as being an actor in the popular Australian TV series Home And Away which is still shown on UK television.

These relationship claims have been angrily denied by Ronaldo’s girlfriend Gemma, who claims some clever editing made it appear that she was flirting with the Australian actor. She claims that it was just a stunt to boost the shows ratings, and that she only has romantic feelings for Cristiano. It wouldn’t be the first time that Atkinson has been involved with a celebrity after apparently dating another footballer, Charlton Athletic star Darren Bent.

Ronaldo’s girlfriend reportedly told a friend that Ronaldo is gorgeous in every way and that things are going really well together. Cristiano Ronaldo apparently agreed that things between the couple are going really well, and that he has been constantly texting her during the TV show recordings and

that he has been voting for Gemma constantly during the show. According to a friend he would love to go to the studio and show his support for Gemma Atkinson personally, but was worried that it could cause a stir due to the apparent fling between Gemma and Mark.

Manchester United to Play AC Milan in Champions League

The draw for the next round of Champions league is out now. The top two English clubs Manchester United and Chelsea will play against the two Italian Clubs, AC Milan and Inter Milan. Arsenal will play against FC Porto.

Manchester United was thrashed out from Champions League in the 2006-07 season by AC Milan. It was the last time when Man United did not qualified for the final game. After that United have played the final in both seasons 2007-08 and 2008-09. This season’s performance of Manchester United is not very eye catching like in the last few seasons. They are still struggling to fill in the place of Ronaldo. In January transfer window Sir Alex Ferguson will have to bring some good players to improve his side.

Chelsea will play against Inter Milan, which is currently coached by José Mourinho. Mourinho is the man who coached Chelsea to win two consecutive EPL trophies in seasons 2004-05 and 2005-06. Mourinho unexpectedly left Chelsea in 2007-08 season just before the game against Manchester United which Chelsea lost 2-0. So clearly he left Chelsea with some real bad memories although he became one of the greatest mangers for Chelsea football club. Now he is all set to take on Chelsea with his Inter Milan side. So it is better to say it will be Mourinho vs Chelsea.

Arsenal will be playing against FC Porto. FC Porto has won the Champions League Trophy in 2003-04 with José Mourinho coaching the Portuguese club.

Fixtures are following:

– Olympique Lyonnais vs Real Madrid CF 16/02/10 and 10/03/10

– AC Milan vs Manchester United FC 16/02 and 10/03

– FC Porto vs Arsenal FC 17/02/10 and 09/03/10

– FC Bayern München vs ACF Fiorentina 17/02/10 and 09/03/10

– VfB Stuttgart vs FC Barcelona 23/02/10 and 17/03/10

– Olympiacos FC vs FC Girondins de Bordeaux 23/02/10 and 17/03/10

– FC Internazionale Milano vs Chelsea FC 24/02/10 and 16/03/10

– PFC CSKA Moskva vs Sevilla FC 24/02/10 and 16/03/10

Manchester United Football Club

There is no way of talking about English football without a mention of Manchester United. This is the most decorated and successful professional football club based in Greater Manchester to the North-West of England. The club was formed way back in 1878 under the name Newton Heath LYR Football Club and acquired its current name in 1902. Nicknamed the Red Devils, the club moved to their current Old Trafford home in 1910.

The club’s first real taste of glory was when they won the Division One title in 1908, then won the FA Cup the following year before reclaiming the Division One title in 1911. But the successful history for which the club is mostly famously known for did not start until 1945 when Matt Busby was appointed manager. The success was not immediate but by 1957, the club had championship triumphs thrice. The ‘Busby Babes’ as they were called due to the youthfulness of the side were fast evolving into a force to be reckoned with in English professional football. It was also in 1957 that the Red Devils became the very first English club to compete in the European Cup, the predecessor of the now lucrative UEFA Champions League.

In 1958, however, disaster struck when eight players died in a plane crash as the team was flying home from a European club tie. Coming from a quarter-final triumph over Red Star Belgrade, the plane carrying the team and journalists crashed on take-off after refueling in Munich, Germany. Busby, who survived the crash, had to rebuild the team which he did and in 1963 they won the FA Cup against many odds. They followed that with league triumphs in 1965 and 1967. Glory on the European front came in 1968 when the Red Devils won the European Cup. The victory came over none other than the then Portuguese giants Benfica.

When Matt Busby resigned in 1969, the club underwent a very difficult period. A flurry of successive managers could not save the Mancunians from being relegated in 1974 though they went back to the top flight the following season. 1977 saw them beat Liverpool to win the FA Cup under Tommy Docherty but the success of Sir Matt Busby was not anywhere in sight. Success in the league continued to elude them though they won the FA cup twice in the mid-80s under Ron Atkinson.

The current United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, was appointed in 1986 and his successes are only comparable Sir Busby’s. Despite a slow start, he won the FA cup in 1990 and followed that up with European triumphs in the Cup Winners Cup and the European Super Cup. His real success, however, was from 1993 when United won the now renamed English Premier League and as of 2010, they had won the league a record 11 times and UEFA Champions League twice in 1999 and 2008.

Among the notable players to have played for United include George Best, Bobby Charlton, Dennis Law, Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Ryan Giggs, who is the most decorated player in English football.

Choosing a Man Utd Retro Shirt – A Look at 3 Vintage Manchester United Football Shirts From the Past

Vintage Manchester United football shirts come in many different designs, colours and styles, which in a way reinforces what a rich and colourful history this great club has had over the years. There is a Man Utd retro shirt for most of the club’s greatest moments, especially from the sixties and seventies.

As you might expect, most of the Red Devils’ best moments are celebrated with a red Man Utd retro shirt, however, there are a number of non-red vintage Manchester United football shirts that you can purchase from specialist websites online, including a rather famous blue one.

Below we take a look at three vintage Manchester United football shirts from the past, so if you are looking for a cool Man Utd retro shirt to cheer your team on next season you should definitely read on.

Manchester United 1968 European Cup Final shirts

These vintage Man Utd football shirts are probably the most iconic in the club’s history, so it is somewhat ironic that they are in a colour that you would not normally associate with the club.

Winning the 1968 European Cup Final was Manchester United’s greatest hour, when a team consisting of legends such as Sir Bobby Charlton, Nobby Stiles, Brian Kidd and George Best, beat Benfica 4-1 after extra time.

This Man Utd retro shirt is based around a royal blue jersey. Which has the European Cup Final logo on the shirt, with the words «Wembley 1968» written beneath it.

Manchester Utd 1970’s George Best shirts

George Best was without doubt one of the most skilful players ever in the game of Football. He was also soccer’s first pin-up boy, long before David Beckham was even born.

These classic Manchester United football shirts celebrate the club’s mercurial talent, with the words «BEST» and the number 7 on the back of a classic Man Utd retro shirt.

Manchester Utd 1978 shirts

This 1978 Man Utd retro shirt marks a time in the club’s history that is perhaps more famous for their cup success than their league finishes. The 1978 Centenary shirt was a style worn by the United players throughout the late 1970’s, when Utd reached no less than three FA Cup Finals, in 1976, 1977 and 1979, winning one of them against Liverpool.

These vintage Manchester Utd football shirts are based around a classic red jersey with a three white stripe trim on the collar and the sleeves and a special centenary shield.

The Rivalry Between Liverpool and Manchester United

One of the fiercest rivalries in English football, and even in World football, is the rivalry between Liverpool football club and Manchester United football club.

There is no love lost between the fans, players or managers of the two giants of club football.

A Tale of Two Cities

The origins of this rivalry point towards the rivalries of the two cities since industrial times. Liverpool and Manchester were challenging for supremacy of the north west of England. Manchester was renowned for it’s excellent manufacturing capabilities, whilst Liverpool had long been a major city due to it’s port.

However, once the Manchester Ship Canal was built, ships were able to bypass Liverpool to carry goods directly to Manchester. The loss in jobs in Liverpool no doubt strengthened the hostilities between the two cities.

On the Pitch

The first match between the clubs was on 12 October 1895 which Liverpool won 7-1. There have been 152 league matches. Manchester United have won 58, Liverpool 51 and there have been 43 draws.

If anything the off field rivalries between the cities have been deepened by the great successes of the two clubs. Both clubs have had periods of dominance of English soccer and each of these periods has increased the rivalry between the clubs.

During the 1970’s and 80’s, Liverpool dominated English Football and to some extent European Football, winning 11 league titles and 4 European Cups.

The 1990’s onwards have belonged to Manchester United who also won 11 league titles as well as 2 European Cups.

Significantly in 2009, Manchester United equalled Liverpool’s long standing record of having won 18 League titles overall. The team that came second was…Liverpool. The competition between the two teams reached fever pitch during this season. No more proof of this was required than the ‘War of Words’ between the two club managers, Sir Alex Ferguson and Rafa Benitez. The pair traded verbal blows as the season was heading to a thrilling climax.

Is this rivalry good or bad?

Well, in one sense the intensity of the rivalry spills over into deep hatred and irrational loathing not only from the fans, but from the players and managers too. Sometimes the personal insults that are thrown at each other seem to be going too far.

In another sense, however, you get the sense that it is this rivalry that really creates the massive amount of motivation to succeed. Both clubs are determined to be more successful than the other and this seeps through from the fans to the players to the manager to every person connected with the clubs. It could be argued that neither club would have been as successful as they have been without this fierce rivalry.

What of the future?

With both clubs on 18 league titles, the 2009/10 league season promises to be the most bitterly contested ever as neither team will want to live with the stigma of falling behind in the reckoning.

You can have your say on who is the greatest and also see what others think at the Football Duel.

As another season beckons, hold on to your seats and watch the next chapter of this fascinating rivalry unfold!
