From the Brink to Champions: How AC Milan Bounced Back from Disaster

AC Milan are Serie A champions for the first time since 2011, but how did they do it? Not long ago they were in financial ruin, with disarray at all levels of the club: the back room staff, the ownership and the squad. But now, AC Milan have a much more coherent approach, they revolutionized their recruitment department, believed in young talent, had a good mix of senior players to guide said talent, and a fantastic manager in Pioli. Pioli, a man nobody else believed in. Now, Milan is in such good hands, that their owners Elliott Management are ready to sell them to Red Bird in a massive billion euro sale.

  1. Milan fans harassed me (very, very nicely) to cover their team all season. But I would rather live with the constant "do a video on Milan" than get accused of jinxing them if things had gone wrong.😂 That's what took me so long. Congrats guys!

  2. I agree with all things describe in this video. As rossoneri fans since childhood, 3 years of process from 2019 until now are not easy and now, regardless the match result, I more enjoy watching the team plays every week. hope Milan can win scudetto again and produce better result on UCL

  3. I'll be turning 39 this December. Supported Milan since I started watching Football Italia on CH4 in the UK when I was eight or nine years old. It's sickening seeing friends back home or random clowns on Facebook or whatever, denigrating Serie A, because the EPL is 'so much better.' 'Italian football is too slow' they scream. Maybe because the players are coached to not run around the field like headless chickens. 'It's too defensive.' Defence wins you games. It's more difficult to maintain a solid backline than it is to score. 'No big players play in Serie A.' This might be true enough these days, but only because of money. Football, whether we like or not, is a money racket these days. The only reason any player would trade in living in Milan or Rome versus Manchester, is the big fat paycheck. Agents and their grubby paws have ruined the game as well, but that's a tangential argument. I'm hoping for a solid run in the CL this season, and another title to get that second star would be most welcome. I'm just happy to see Milan finally getting their act together, on the field and off. Forza Milan.

  4. Early July. Bit of chaos at the club. Milan lost out on Sanchez and botman. Origi looking like the big singing for the early transfer season. Leão and bennacer not renewed and maldini and massara renewed after their previous deals ran out. Redbird is red herring.

  5. Milan and Maldini always made me happy to watch Serie A back in the day and it’s a great feeling to see the European Giant bounce back and return to Champions League. I am especially happy for Maldini and Milan fans for this achievement.

  6. After a decade of frustration with My beloved club.. i am so happy we finally won the scudetto. Will need at least few more years and good recruitment to compete in Europe again.

  7. Im proud to be milanista they did an amazing trasfers spend a minimum money for a high quality young player. Other clubs need to copy these kind of transfers no big nonsense money. Milan proof that having a minimum money still could make a decent signing

  8. Excellent video but you have to wear a jersey of Milan not Ajax. Anyway. Milan is back were belongs on top of Campionato and why not in couple of years in champions League. Clearly european football without AC Milan is not the same. Sempre Milan 🔴⚫

  9. Became a Rossonero just after supporting Liverpool perform the Istanbul Miracle.

The TV stations in my country kept replaying the final many times every day.
I saw a man who would later be my idol for years (Kaka') take his PK and my elder bro passing a sweet comment (This guy is sooooo good).
It stuck in my head and he automatically became my idol with his name on my football wears to school and field at home.

The only time I've felt the way I felt after the scudetto win was the 2007 win over Man U to set up a rematch against Liverpool which we would win to complete our revenge.

My love for this team never died even during the mediocre seasons.
I would refuse to see their matches out of anger but before I know what's happening I'm sitted seeing same match and jeering forethe team.

After the end of last season, I told everyone this "This season's fight for matches before succumbing tells me we own next season",
they all laughed hard and I told them "I'll come back and tell ya'll I told you it's ours" which I did and livestreamed it for them all to watch my team lift the trophy and they all smiled and congratulated me.

Never been this proud in years…

    Thanks for this video,

    Forza Milan,
    Sempre Milan

  10. There's one thing that lead Milan to success above its fantastic virtue.

    That it's pandemy.

Juventus made huge investments (Ronaldo) but cannot have reward due to covid.
Inter made huge investments (Conte-Lukaku-Hakimi-Eriksen) but cannot have reward due to covid.

AC Milan made savings… and Covid gave ACMilan the opportunity to shine even if the team was not good enough to win in standard conditions.

I'm not saying that they didn't deserve what they earn in this season.
I'm just saying that pandemy is an external situation that gave Milan extremely weaker opponents.

Like in a board game… Milan played smart and almost perfect tactics but the dice return 6 with the perfect timing to win (and 1 to the opponents).

Sarri's Napoli (Higuain's one) or Spalletti's Roma (the one with Salah) didn't have the same extremely lucky environment.

It's like the Leicester year in Premier League.
They rised to the occasion (United, City, Liverpool… were all missing) but the occasion in this case has been pandemy.
