How Should Liverpool Line-Up? | Nunez, Salah, Diaz, Jota, Firmino | Attacking Options EXPLAINED

With Liverpool announcing the signing of Darwin Nunez to effectively replace Sadio Mane, his arrival could mean all but that.

Liverpool struggled to find a consistent front three last season, but the arrival of Nunez could signify a change of formation and tactics in attack, as Patrick Smith reports.

  1. If thiago can play a double pivot with fab then the 4231 looks good but it wouldn't look so rigid as salah will be more inside forward and diaz would drive into the middle allowing nunez for space to run into on the left.

  2. i would love to see the 4 2 3 1 with carvalho in the middle 3. he seems perfect for that role the way he plays switching with firmino. it would also give the older mid more chances to rotate in the pivots. finally having a real number 9 up top and this setup could work but who knows what klopps plan is. the 433 did almost get him the quad

  3. I hope to see Keita, Tsimikas, Salah and Trent step it up next season. Trent's defending last season was shocking and cost us the Champ's League. The new kid from Aberdeen knows how to float the ball in instead of whipping it.

  4. Klopp's favored system is 4 2 3 1… That's the formation he played at Dortmund… together with the 2 wing backs…..6 of them…. it's the formation that most suits his gegenpressing, repossessing, attacking and defending up the field…..so Firmino behind Nunez with Salah and Diaz on either side with Jota Diaz on the sideline ready to come in. Also this formation will not need getting another midfield player…..Fabinho and Thiago will sit before the back 4…..having Hendo, Miller who are both aging…..together with Keita and Ox if he stays ready to take over….. there's also Jones and Elliott too to spice things up……
Finally, Firmino will be a natural behind Nunez….he will open up defenses….semi Coutinho…..same tricks and passing vision with goals to contribute as well…..

  5. The front three was very predictable and when it didn't work we didn't have a plan B. Now we have a plan B, C and D in attack. No doubt we'll see all permutations of attacking personnel over the course of the season dependent on who the opposition is, whether we are comfortable in games or chasing goals. I imagine Klopp will ease Nunez in but if he starts on fire like Diaz did then he'll get more game time.

  6. Old version of the song
    We've got salah
    And mane mane
    And bobby firmino
    But we sold coutinho

    New version:
    We've got salah
    Diaz and nunez
    Jota and firmino
    But we sold sadio

  7. Has to be Diaz, Nunes and Salah. I don’t actually like Salah and didn’t like mané (as people) but you can’t really argue with their football even though Salah is greedy and makes the wrong decisions a lot. He passes when he should shoot but more often than not shoots when other teammates are in far better positions. I won’t miss him when he leaves next season ? not one bit. This team is so good that anyone who plays there and gets that service would score as many goals so don’t give me golden boot this and golden boot that ? I don’t wanna hear it. Nunes will be the main man with goals this coming season so screenshot his comment and remind me of it in 9 months ?
