The Acuvue Oasys Family

Among the current selection of soft contacts, the Acuvue Oasys family of lenses is taking their place in the 'neighborhood' and is rapidly growing in popularity. They have stepped to the forefront, becoming a leading brand prescribed by eye doctors.

Acuvue Oasys, for Astigmatism, and for Presbyopia all share features that contribute to the ongoing improvement in comfort and extended wear desired by contact users.

The trademarked Hydraclear Plus technology approximates the way eyes naturally stay wet, with a delivery of moisture that lasts all day even in environments and conditions that rapidly produce dryness. The use of senofilcon A (a silicone hydrogel material) facilitates a high flow of oxygen through the lens – a necessary process to maintain eye health. This unbeatable combination gets you as close to that feeling of 'not wearing any contacts at all' as any soft lens can.

The Acuvue Oasys family has also forged ahead in the area of UV protection, blocking 96% of UV-A radiation and 99% of UV-B radiation from reaching the covered portion of the eye *. These numbers put Acuvue Oasys at the top of the list in this regard, gaining seals of acceptance for ultraviolet absorbing contact lenses from both the American Optometric Association and the World Council of Optometry.

In addition to the comfort and UV protection, the Astigmatism version of this lens delivers constant, crisp vision due to its four-point Accelerated Stabilization Design that keeps the lens from rotating (and causing a loss of focus). The Presbyopia version of the lens employs Stereo Precision Technology to achieve clear sight at all distances.

Many contact users who are introduced to the Acuvue Oasys family are happy with the results, and there are others who are switching from their prior contacts to get this same satisfaction. One such individual, age 60, has spent much of her forty-four 'contact years' settling for just three hours of comfortable lens wear a day. After recently discovering Acuvue Oasys, she now experiences several days of wear without discomfort. Another turned away from 'old' Acuvue Oasys after an initial trial only to come back and embrace the improved brand.

Acuvue Oasys is FDA approved for two-week daily wear or six nights of extended wear. Ask your eye doctor about the Acuvue Oasys family member best suited for you.

* All other areas of the eye still need to be protected from ultraviolet radiation. These lenses are no substitute for UV-protecting eyewear such as sunglasses, goggles, etc.

UV-A radiation damages collagen fibers (which support cell structure) and destroys Vitamin A in the skin.

UV-B radiation does direct DNA damage that leads to skin cancer.

Sweetheart Written by Chelsea Cain

Gretchen Lowell is a real conniver that can get in someone’s mind and stay there, as she has with Detective Archie Sheridan. Susan Ward, a reporter with the Oregon Herald, also seems to have allowed Gretchen to get in her mind too. Archie’s reliance on drugs to keep his physical pain away was getting worse. The farther the case went the worse his addiction was, even though he tried to hide it but those close to him knew and worked hard with him to get Gretchen out of his mind and life. This Archie couldn’t do. Mass murderer Gretchen was so beautiful that Archie dreamed that he was making love to Gretchen while physically doing this with his ex-wife who he still dearly loved deep inside.

Gretchen Lowell worked her way into the prison infirmary by either attacking a guard or being attacked by the same or both! She was good-so good. Archie and his partner, Henry, went to investigate the prison attack by first visiting Gretchen, as she lay bound up in shackles and appearing very beat up. Of course she would not tell Archie exactly how she got in this condition. He had to guess as Gretchen sweet-talked him. Shortly afterward, a guard was found dead and Gretchen had escaped, sore and beat as she was, that did not deter her escape from prison. Now that Gretchen Lowell was on the loose, Archie knew she would resume her killing and he could do nothing to stop her nor could he visit her as he did when she was in prison where she used each of Archie’s weekly visits as a bribe to disclose another of her many victims from years past.

The sudden death of a reporter and a politician in a car that went over a bridge appeared to be a suicide. This brought the authorities and news media out of their «Gretchen Lowell» shell and realize there was other crime occurring. Susan had previously uncovered a political bombshell about this politician and thought that the reporter might have been working on the same story. The reporter, Parker, was a tutor and close friend of Susan’s. Susan had tried extremely hard to get the newspaper to print the corrupt politicians story but no one would commit, not wanting to hurt the guy.

Meanwhile more bodies were being found, some old and some newer but most smelled of Gretchen Lowell all over the way they had been killed and where found. The authorities did all they could to protect Archie and his family knowing that they were in extreme danger with Gretchen Lowell on the loose. All the protection in the world could not stop her from contacting Archie and sweet-talking him once again. Susan Ward was constantly on this case and she and her mother were also in danger as Gretchen knew her and felt Archie could be near Susan.

Chelsea Cain, you have spun a follow-up story to Heartsick that is every bit as suspenseful or possibly more intriguing. The ending of this book makes me wishing I had a follow up book following Archie in his adventures. I truly hope you are working on this Chelsea. I would suggest that the reader start with Heartsick and then read Sweetheart. Both stories are fast moving and full of suspense and adventure that are nothing short of sensational.

Tap Into Your Power and Add EFT to Your Healing Repertoire

I have had the privilege to experience amazing results through the use of an energy healing modality that is so simple my children learned to use it at ages 6 and 8! Now is your opportunity to tap into your power!

Gary Craig is the founder of EFT, or Emotional Freedom Techniques. A tremendous amount of information is available at his website.

In April of 2006 I discovered EFT in response to my daughter's escalating health condition. Chelsea * had been on decongestants, antihistamines and steroid based medicines from age 1 to her then age, 6. She was diagnosed as a "chronic mucus producer." Chelsea would produce so much mucus while lying down to sleep that she would cough until she would vomit. This condition was persistent over the years.

Prescription medicines would provide relief at times. However, at night, while lying down she sounded as if she was drowning in her own mucus.

We reached a period when Chelsea had not slept for 3 nights. Our six year old had dark circles under her eyes and was completely worn out. In April 2006, the doctor put Chelsea on 45 mg. of prednisone. We gave her the medicine to relieve the struggle she was experiencing. Concurrently, I reached my limit with mainstream medicine for Chelsea's condition.

On the evening of her first dose of prednisone, I "Googled" "healing night time cough." To my great surprise, the response was, "EFT practitioner heals 6 year old son of night time cough."

I rushed to my bookshelf and found the bound copy of Gary's workbook I had downloaded two years earlier. I began to read and absorb the material. I then signed up for my first of several EFT Training Classes. By the time Chelsea completed the prescribed dosage of prednisone, I had begun to use the tapping techniques I had learned. We also eliminated dairy products from our diets.

EFT entails using your own fingertips to tap on 10 specific meridian (energy pathways) points on the body. While tapping, you remain focused on the condition that is ailing you.

I began to tap on Chelsea and she immediately went off all of her other medicines for mucus – for good! She is now 9 years old and has not had any prescription medicine.

The Night Hawk, the World’s First Stealth Bomber

When I visited the USA in 1998 as part of the air staff team, we were quartered at one of the USAF bases. At one end (that area was kept off bounds) we could see dark bat shaped planes. They were part of the secret arsenal of the USAF and from my knowledge; I knew that this was the famous stealth fighter. It was given the number as F-115 and called Night Hawk. The plane at that time was the most advanced in the world and nobody had anything like it.

Technology was Russian

The Night Hawk cost 111 million dollars apiece and was discontinued in the USAF after 25 years and replaced with the F-22 or Raptor. Never the less the F-117 was something unique and incorporated the stealth technology. This technology was published in a research paper presented in 1964 by a Russian scientist named Pykr. The Russians ignored this paper but the engineers at Lockheed studied the paper in detail. In effect, the Prof has stated that a plane could be made that could allow the radar waves to bounce off the plane and thus render the aircraft invisible to detection by radar. it could only be sighted visually.

It meant making a plane with an unconventional design. it had to have angles of construction, that were of a particular slant so that the radar waves could bounce off. The plane thus had the look of a bat and was christened the Night Hawk. The Night Hawk first flew in 1981 and a few years later was inducted into the USAF. The Night Hawk was a revolutionary design and for 5 years the Americans kept it secret before the world came to know of this unique plane. The Russians rued the development of the F-117 and wondered how they had missed the bus.

Operational use

The Night Hawk was put into operational use and used extensively in the air bombardment of Iraq, during the 1992 US-Iraq war. The plane despite a slow speed of some 660km/hr could not be detected. It had limited range of about 1000 km and thus for a target, it needed mid-air refueling. It carried no defensive armaments relying on its ability to attack a target undetected. It carried 2 x 1000 laser guided bombs, that could penetrate even 12ft of concrete and was thus a force multiplier. The Russians were however hard at work to perfect their own stealth fighter and the US the need of another plane was felt. Research started and this led to the led to the Raptor, which had a longer range and flew at 3 times the speed of the Night Hawk. Once the Raptor was ready for combat duty, the F-117 was phased out, but it served the US interests for 25 years. During this period only one Night Hawk was lost in combat over Serbia when a Russian missile was able to hit it. The pilot was rescued in a dramatic rescue mission, but the plane crashed. Russian engineers as well as Chinese salvaged parts of the plane and took it to Moscow and China in an effort to understand the stealth technology. Parts of the plane can see be seen in the Museum at Belgrade.

Last word

The F-115 remained the only stealth fighter in the world during the days of the cold war and even after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the plane was the mainstay of US offensive action. It was used extensively in Afghanistan when the USA mounted an invasion and no plane was lost despite missiles

Glasgow Rangers Football Club

The 1919/20 season heralded the dawn of a new era for Rangers as manager William Wilton and number two William Struth initiated a Glasgow Rangers dominance that was to last until the outbreak of the Second World War in 1939. Though winning this season with 31 wins out of 42 games and scoring 106 goals, it was overshadowed by the subsequent death of manager, William Wilton.

William Wilton

When the Scottish League was formed in 1890, Wilton became its first treasurer as Rangers shared the title with Dumbarton.

The season before he was appointed to his dual-role, Rangers had achieved the first ever 100% league record, winning all 18 games and scoring 79 goals. No team before or since has ever achieved the same, although several teams have gone unbeaten in a league season since, including Arsenal in 2004.

Rangers were to win 8 league titles with Wilton as manager

Sadly,Wilton did not see the full extent of the team’s success. The day after the final match of the season in 1920, he left or the Bank Holiday, which he planned to spend at Gourock, but he died in a boating accident on the first day of his holiday.

Taking over the manager’s job was William Struth, Struth guided Rangers to a further 14 titles before the war. This period was also noteworthy for the attendances. On the 2nd January 1939 a British league record was broken as 118,567 fans turned out to watch Rangers beat Glasgow Celtic in the traditional new year holiday old firm match.

Glasgow Rangers is a great football club with a great history.

"Hands-Up-To-The-Sky" – Ricardo Kaka Biography

Kaka Biography – Introduction

I’m writing this Kaka biography a few weeks after the 2006/2007 Champions League final, a final ending with a happy result, 2-1 for the Brazilian’s team, AC Milan against England’s Liverpool.

I must say, as impressive as Filippo Inzaghi (who scored both AC Milan’s goals) was, my eyes were focused on the Brazilian Kaka throughout the entire match. His passes, his dribblings, his speed and his vision on the pitch were honey to my eyes.

I decided to write this Kaka biography not because the Brazilian needs it, but because I want you to find out who the real Ricardo Kaka is, how he rose up the ladders of his career before being a super star and what exactly does that «hands-up-to-the-sky» kaka celebration mean.

Kaka Biography – Early Career

After spending his early days at different youth clubs around his home town of Brasilia and Sao Paulo, Kaka was eventually offered a professional contract at a very tender age: seventeen.

Since Kaka played great soccer for Sao Paulo’s youth teams, the reserve team and the Brazilian U-17 national squad, he immediately attracted the eyes of several European clubs, the one coming forward first being Turkish side Gaziantepspor.

Sao Paulo agreed to sell Kaka, for a sum of $1.5m, a sum that, if you think of the player’s market value now, would seem like peanuts. Still, the sum was quite big for the Turkish side, especially for a 17-year old footballer, Kaka’s young age giving them no guarantees that he will turn out to play great soccer regularly on professional level.

Kaka Biography – Swimming Pool Incident Sao Paulo FC

In his first season as a professional player for Sao Paulo, Kaka didn’t play for the Brazilian team, but he used this time to accommodate himself with his new colleagues and the hardships of professional soccer in Brazil.

He was probably going to get his debut that season still, but an unfortunate swimming pool incident almost ended his career as a footballer, Kaka fracturing his spine in September 2000. Not only did he risk his future, but this fracture almost cost him his life and he was in real danger of being paralyzed for the rest of his life.

Miraculously, Kaka made a full recovery and came back to training after his full strength came back to him. From that day forward, Kaka found faith in God and some of his profits as a professional footballer always go to the Church, as a small gesture of thanking God for saving his life and his career. The famous Kaka celebration, after he scores a goal, is related to that incident, as each time, he thanks God for allowing him to play soccer and be there on the pitch.

Kaka Biography – Attracting the European Giants

After fully recovering from his horrible fracture, Kaka was finally given a chance to play for Sao Paulo, in January 2001 and he didn’t disappoint, scoring no less than 12 goals in 27 appearances that season. This guaranteed him a solid first team place for the 2001-2002 season, in which he scored another 10 goals in 22 matches and whenever a young Brazilian soccer player performs that well, he’s bound to get a few calls from some major European clubs.

One of these clubs would be AC Milan, one of Italy’s most important teams and Kaka signed without blinking, eager to start a European career.

You probably know the story from here. Kaka is currently in his fourth season with Milan, whom he won the Serie A championship with once, the Italian Super Cup once, and the UEFA Champions League a few weeks ago (he also played another Champions League final in the 2004-2005 season, but lost it to Liverpool in what is considered one of the most beautiful finals of the tournament). He became an indispensable player for AC Milan but also for Brazil.

As a Brazil soccer player, Kaka scored 31 goals in 52 matches so far and gave out numerous perfect assists in his role as an attacking midfielder. Having the young midfielder in the squad, Brazil football became even more technical and quick (if that was even possible) and they’re considered amongst the main favorites for the following international tournaments.

Football Facts – 5 Interesting Facts About Football

The First Football League

It is generally accepted that the first officially organised league competition in the world was the (English) Football League formed in 1888. Then, it consisted of 12 clubs all of whom were based in the North and the Midlands of England. The very first winners of the Football League Championship were Preston North End.

In 1992 with the influx of megabucks from BSkyB (now called Sky TV), the top teams broke away to form their own league called the FA Premier League.

Today, the original Football League has 3 divisions called; the Championship, Division 1 and Division 2.

So that England today has a total of 4 professional football leagues, with teams moving up (promotion) or down (relegation) through the leagues depending on their points tally at the end of each season.

The First Football Association Cup (FA Cup)

The first FA Cup final was played in England in 1872 between Royal Engineers and Wanderers in front of 2,000 spectators. Wanderers ran out 1-0 winners partly because Royal Engineers — who were the favourites — lost a player through injury, early in the match, and had to play on with only 10 men since substitutes were not allowed then. The «Challenge Cup», as it was known originally, was the brainchild of Mr. C. W. Alcock of Sunderland who proposed only the year before that «A challenge cup should be established in connection with the Association«; the «Association» being the Football Association, hence the FA Cup.

The Oldest Football Club in the World

There have always been many arguments over the oldest football club in the world. Here are some facts to consider though…

The oldest, continuously documented, «football» club in the world is Dublin University Football Club, in the Republic of Ireland, which was founded in 1854. However, the club now plays Rugby Union, not Association Football. For this reason it is not officially recognized as the oldest football club in the world.

Sheffield Football Club — Sheffield FC — founded in England in 1857, is recognised by both the English FA and FIFA as being the oldest, continuously documented football club in the world still playing Association Football. They play in the Northern Premier League Division 1 South in England. So they are generally now recognised as being the oldest football club in the world.

But, there is documentation of a «football club» in Edinburgh, Scotland between 1824 and 1841. Several documents still exist today which refer to the «Foot Ball Club» and it’s rules. It worked rather like a golf club where members selected teams from their membership to play one another. The club has been now been reconstituted and plays under the name of «The Foot Ball Club of Edinburgh» in an amateur capacity.

The First International Football Match

The first international football match was played between Scotland and England in Glasgow, Scotland on 30th November 1872, in front of 4,000 spectators. The result was a hard-fought 0-0 draw. And of the 110 games played between 1872 and 1999 when the fixture was disbanded, Scotland had won 41, England 45, and 24 games had ended in a draw.

The First Trainer’s Dugout

The first ever recorded use of a sunken covered enclosure at the side of the pitch (the dugout) was in the early 1920s at Pittodrie Stadium, Aberdeen, Scotland. The trainer at the time, Donald Coleman, had it built to protect himself while he took detailed notes of his players during matches, as was his practice, and, was partly sunken into the ground so as not to block spectators’ views of the game. Visiting teams were so impressed that the idea soon spread throughout the UK and then the rest of the world.

Impact of Brexit on English Football

Brexit, the word came into existence in early months of 2016 when Britain firstly announced its exit from EU. The statement quickly spread a turbulent wave in the whole world especially to the other members of EU. At that time, none was able to understand what was happening and why Britain is having this exit. Numerous meeting and press conferences took place in no time, but nobody could get any clear idea about the upcoming consequences of this exit by the UK. Everyone was waiting to know how the UK will vote for this exit. 51.9% of votes were in favor of Brexit and rest 48.1% votes went against it. EU nationals knew that it was going to be a big change for them, especially the players who play football. The players knew that the UK's exit from EU may originate lots of changes in the system they are part of.

Now, after one year of Brexit's referendum, the UK has finally invoked Article 50 of Lisbon treaty on 29th of March, 2017 leaving most of the premier league clubs in fear of its impact. Following are the parameters which may get affected and impact the English football big way:

1) Freedom of Movement: In accordance with four fundamentals of freedom by the EU, it is the right of the citizens to move freely among the member states for the purpose of employment. Now as Britain has left EU, it will not at all be easy for the EU nationals to enter the UK. This kind of restriction on citizens will clearly impact the citizens to work, especially those who play football. These football players will not be able to work with the UK football clubs that easily as it was before Brexit. Unless the UK government gets into some agreement with an individual member state of EU considering "Freedom of Movement", the EU citizens have to face uncertainty. Such an uncertainty among the players is going to have a bad impact on their game and career. It was because of Freedom of Moment only that these players were able to work for various clubs of EU without any work permit. After Brexit, things are never going to be the same. The players have to get a work visa to work with football clubs in the UK and it won't be that easy.

2) Work Permit: The second major impact which Brexit may create for the English football players is the requirement of a work permit to enter and work in the UK. The players who were working with various football clubs in the UK without any Visa issues will now have to obtain work permit before entering the UK. The complex part is that there is a set criterion to have a work permit. Similar issues will be faced by non-EU players, who will apply to FA for a governing body endorsement before a work permit can be issued to them by their Home office. Considering this impact, the Premier League clubs have urged Britain's government to find out some protective measures from being impacted by Brexit. They want the UK government to provide an exemption of work visa to the footballers so that they can freely play for their respective clubs in Britain. Otherwise, it will be difficult for the football clubs in the UK to hire the players from Europe. Therefore, it is extremely necessary for Britain to preserve its 44-year relationship with EU.

3) Devaluation of Currency: Since June 2016, when Brexit was proposed, the value of British Pound is certainly decreasing against Dollar. This devaluation of the UK's currency is definitely going to affect the life of football players who are playing for the UK football clubs as they will earn less in comparison to post Brixit earnings. Moreover, it will be easy for Non the UK clubs to pick football players easily from the UK as they will have to pay less salary to those players who understand pounds. Moreover, this devaluation of the UK's currency will remain uncertain unless there are some bilateral agreements signed between the two parties, the UK and other left members of EU. Therefore, this downfall of a pound is surely going to affect the lives of footballers playing in Premier League. They may have to face financial losses and many other changes in their life. For few of them, it can also be tough to continue their career as a footballer which can be a big issue for them to resolve.

4) The tension between the FA and the Premier League: Due to Brexit, there is a sense of uncertainty surrounding the potential implications of football law. Those who are leading the football clubs in the UK are also tensed and uncertain about how they are doing to operate after Brexit. According to the record charts of Premier League, the highest percentage of goals scored by EU nationals in the Premier League is of Chelsea and it's 76 percent. That means the Blues will suffer the most post Brexit. Moreover, 74 percent of the players from Chelsea are either an EU national or they hold a second EU nationality. It will become extremely tough for Chelsea to easily operate because of Brexit. As per the football authorities in the UK, there can be restrictions on Bosman transfers, which will restrict the UK clubs to hire EU players to play for their club in Premier League. Even FA is planning to create some new opportunities for the young players of England, who want to play in England. Whereas, the Premier League clubs are focusing on their player squads to face and survive the upcoming competitions.

5) GBE: It stands for "Governing body endorsement". According to FA's work permit criteria, now the Non-EU / EEA footballers will have to receive GBE from their respective sports governing body to get a work visa and play for the respective clubs. Those players who have participated in the minimum percentage of senior competitive international matches for their national teams in two years duration before they have applied for a work visa, do qualify for GBE. In case any player doesn't qualify for GBE, then that player will be evaluated on points based system. These points are given on the basis of the amount of transfer fee paid by that player and the basic salary offered to the player as compared to other players in a league. These points are also awarded on the basis of that player's performance while playing for his previous club. At the end, the player who qualifies for this points based system gets the visa and those players who cannot qualify, they do not get a work permit for play for respective football clubs.

Length of Issue of GBE:
Governing Body Endorsements should be issued for a period appropriate to the period of
approval for sponsorship or the tier under which the application is being made, that is:
As a Sponsor – Tier 2 or Tier 5 – for 4 years.
Migrant Tier 2 Sport
Initial application – length of contract or up to three years maximum, whichever is the
shorter period.
Extension application – length of contract or up to two years maximum, whichever is
the shorter period.
Migrant Tier 5 sporting – length of contract or up to 12 months, whichever is the
shorter period. No in-country extensions are possible.

If stated in their governing body endorsement requirements, governing bodies may endorse an individual player for a shorter period than the employment contract, for example, a season. If this is the case, the individual player must be made aware that their certificate of sponsorship and consequently entry clearance or leave to remain will be limited to the length of the endorsement and will not be for the length of the contract.

6) Opportunity for young English Players: Along with other negative vibes, Brexit has also created an opportunity for young English players who were yet unable to be the part of the first team. The authorities from FA want to see the world class Premier League where the world class players will be playing and not the average international players. They are going to give a chance to the domestic players who do have the potential to compete with international players. Then, Premier League will be a platform for them to showcase the talent they have by playing football along with top notch footballers. The authorities have addressed that they are not trying to be in a fight with Premier League by calling these youngsters. Rather they are finding a sensible way round that works for all, the players, the governments, Premier League, and FA. It will neither be an open door policy for any player to come and play in Premier League, nor it will be straight no to the foreigners. It will just be the best display of football for all of us. In March 2017, it has been announced by EFL that there will be an increase in the number of home-grown players on team sheets from six to seven from the upcoming season. Also, they had put forward an agreement which says that at least one club developed player will be added to each team for any EFL league from the 2018-19 campaign.

Taking a closer look at the above-mentioned points, anyone can figure out that Brexit is definitely going to have an impact on English Football, if not much then at least some. The players have to face lots of new situations which they may find tough to resolve but, there is always a solution to the problem. Let's hope that the government of the UK and FA, and EU collectively find something effective for the citizens and especially the footballers from both sides.
